Description
I wrote, sang and recorded this song about 10 years ago (probably sounds it!) on my old Digidesign Session 8 setup with a Korg M1 keyboard, an Audio Technica condenser mic and an Alesis reverb unit. I'm sure it sounds dated but it's been lying around for quite some time and I never really played it for anyone except my wife. Plus my vocals aren't layered or anything. They're OK. Just a one-off try. And the song was just my view then (not to far from my view now) of what life has become in this world. The opening lyric is "Our world, today, is just one step away. We're on the edge, one move, and we're off the ledge." I guess I was trying to say that we're all looking for "another world' where there's peace of mind, and mostly, peace. Anyway, this has been a 10-yr. work in progress and now, when I have time, I'd like to redo it for obviously a better sound. Thanks for listening!

Lyrics
Our world today, is just one step away.
We're on the edge, one move and we're off the ledge.
We need a place where love replaces hate
For now, we'll try to find out peace of mind.
Can you tell me friend?
Will it ever end?
Oh can you talk awhile?
Maybe make me smile?
Oh, do you understand?
Could you hold my hand?
Oh, will you follow me?
To another land where we'll be free!
CHORUS:
It's just another world that we're searching for.
It's just another life with a hope for more.
It's just a better place in a different time.
It's just another poem with a different rhyme.
It's just another road just around the bend.
So take your broken heart put it on the mend.
Oh, oh oh oh oh (lots of "ohs"!)
BRIDGE:
I see a better place in time.
I've known a better man than I.
Who's seen the sorrow and the pain.
Who knows the thunder and the rain.
I feel it in the room.
I know he's comin' soon.
I feel it in the air.
I see it everywhere
NEXT VERSE;
Why can't we try seein' things eye to eye.
If we don't soon, our luck will be changin' it's tune, so...
Join hands right now.
Take stands, I'll show you how.
Spread peace on earth.
Give love, see a rebirth.
It could take a while.
You can walk that mile
Oh, it will take some heart.
Will you play your part?
Oh, I can see the light.
We can win this fight!
Oh, can you see the goal?
Your love can make it possible!
CHORUS:
Yeah, it's just another world...
We're on the edge, one move and we're off the ledge.
We need a place where love replaces hate
For now, we'll try to find out peace of mind.
Can you tell me friend?

about this place is that there is so much music and so little time. It's easy for songs to fall through the virtual cracks! This is a classic example. I completely missed this when you posted it. I just dropped by out of interest after hearing your recent loop post. And I'm glad I did. This is a nice song - good structure, nice vocal performance, and a nice dynamic sense. It sounds radio-friendly and ultimately optimistic. I like it a lot. I hope you plan to do more of your stuff in the future. Nice work. Peace.
