Description
OK. Now we're goin' waaaaay back! I didn't even have the Porta Studio when I did this. I had my home stereo with a dual cassette deck that I could bounce back and forth between to simulate multi tracking! I did have one Craptacular® Ultra! microphone. The spectacular rhythm section was done on my old Yamaha toy keyboard. Golly gee willikers. This is so old, I have no idea when I recorded it! I wrote the song in 1995 so, it musta been shortly thereafter.

Much better version done with GarageBand here

Lyrics
Brain Trap
Dave Placko © 1995

Save me from my sanity
It's gettin' dark and I can't see
When the revolution comes
We'll all be free

I heard that people laugh
And I heard that people just don't get it (no, no no)
If you don't like it, leave
Baby, I'm not changin'

I'm goin' insane. I'm goin' crazy, yeah
It's all such a strain. Or, maybe I'm just lazy

Just so you'll know
I'm a little touched in the head
But I don't care what you think
Or what anybody else has to say

I'm goin' insane. I'm goin' crazy, yeah
It's all such a strain. Or, maybe I'm just lazy. Go!

I'm goin' insane
But, you know, I kinda like it here in my world
It's safe and warm
And you're just exactly what I want you to be
Don't even try to run
Once you're in there you can't get out
It's hopeless; it's futile
When my mind dies, you die
When my mind dies, you die
When my mind dies, you die
When my mind dies, you're gonna die!

I'm goin' insane. I'm goin' crazy, yeah
It's all such a strain. Or, maybe I'm just lazy. Yeah!

Necessity is the mother of dementia
You are a master of the double deck stereo. This track kicks. Outrageous guitar playing and killer production - I can't believe how solid this is. Great track.

Thanks
I used to sound even better (if you can believe it) but, time has a way of degrading tape.

I love it!
Reminds me of two classic 90's bands that I happen to love Cracker and Toadies. Ah such fond memories.
Check out my latest song called 1997 (Fresh Electric version, no cheesy drums)
