This rendition is about a Zephyr and a Butterfly!
This tune was highly influenced by Agustine Barrios Mangore's "Choro da Saudade.
He was such a great guitarist! He had great class. To perform in an Indian headdress for 3 years of his classical concert career!

Very nice-have you ever played any of Astor Piazzola's music? I think you would play it really well. There are lots of great pieces for instance "La Muerte Del Angel".
thetiler
Ya, it has kind of an avante garde classical-modern piece. I guess I am more into romantic lately. But incredible stuff. David Tanenbaum does a great job of it. I bet Julian Bream would do that piece well. But not heard him do it, or if he as done it.
Thanks for posting.

especially coming from an acoustical backround as yourself.
Thanks
MissChaos

As usual, you seem to effortlessly produce such beautiful playing. The mix of drums, vox, strings and guitar is very nicely done, and the production is superb. This may be your best post yet.

It's lovely; the playing, the incredibly warm sound you get, the stylistic mastery - everything! You continue to amaze me.
thetiler
Hope everything is going ok with you.
Bill, I really like this one. Your touch on that guitar is so sensitive and expressive. This ranks high. Strings and "Ahhhs" are perfectly placed. Take a a big bow!... and another.
thetiler
Dadai, you seem to be in a good mood. You must of been sailing :)
Alannah
.. but glad I found the time to stop by a Tiler Tune ... of course you have already heard the term "lovely" when describing this piece ... so I shall just echo the sentiments already expressed .. but you already know I am a fan of your stuff Bill ! Even if I don't express it often enough ... know that I am listening !
thetiler
Alannah, I know I cannot take all the credit. But I hope that this piece (arrangement) can stir some interest in truly one of the greatest guitarist of all time. That is Augustine Barrios Mangore. He is a true treasure! The first guitarist to record to disk. Though he died along time ago. His influence still lives on amongst many guitarists.
Thanks much for stopping by!

This is a wonderful creation.
I see that you are gradually entering a new world. Classical guitar has traditionally been a very difficult instument for concerting with orchestra because of its quiet tone which is easily drowned out by an orchestra.
But by working with Garageband (or whatever you are using to create the orchestra) you are building an arena where you can do almost whatever you want. That is a really great idea! No, not that I have any plans of copying the idea, but I think the prospects for such a genre is really great.

Thanks Cori, it's been a lot of fun. I think decades ago in pop music it was demonstrated with Mason Williams "Classical Gas". Of course the grand daddy of em all is the prized Concierto_de_Aranjuez by Rodrigo. Who was blind since a young age.

Also Rodrigo's famous "Fantasia_para un Gentilhombre

True, it is a great struggle I think to mic the nylon string guitar to were the music of the classical guitar blends with the orchestra (or band) the right way. Of course with digital audio editing it can be done.
Thanks for the wonderful post Cori !

Like a cool breeze on a humid afternoon. Wonderful work.

The drumming in the background I used in one of my songs. The song as a Latin feel to it and that beat isn't Latin. I would either take it out completely or request one of the many talented people on this sight to create one for you. I love guitar and I find the guitaring beautiful with the percussion, but the drum machine doesn't work. I'm no expert, just my opinion.
stevewhit
This is so captivating I LOVE IT! everything about it! The melody, strings and guitar playing are just briiliant.
Thanks again

That says it all. Pure artistry, I love it

I've probably said it before, but your playing, especially on this track, reminds me of the guitarist from the rock group Yes, especially on the long intro to the long version of the song "Roundabout."
Your playing gives the impression of years of study and reflection upon your craft. Inspirational, Bill.
iwing
Thanx for the song man.
I like Mangore too.
