Nice work once again, Charles! You have a real knack for evoking strong imagery with your music. I'm always pleased to hear new music from you. Keep it up!

Sometimes I see things- &mdash 08/05/07 - 12:18:12 AM
NOT DEAD PEOPLE- and not always clearly but often enough that maybe some of it's carried into the music. It's also cool to hear the different stuff people do see.
Thanks for so quickly checking this out and for your always encouraging words Clark
Best,
Charlie

soundtrack &mdash 08/03/07 - 06:35:30 PM
Like TW says, reminiscent of old black n white movies about desert thieves and Persian princesses. Danny Kaye meets Elizabeth Taylor in "Sahara Tiara" by Cecil B. DeGrille. Features an old DeSoto which breaks down at the wrong time in the wrong landscape. Alas, misfortune breeds wealth as the pair dig for water, slip into a time warp, and find a cache of 8 GHz Intel Dual Core chips which they sell to Steve Job's Great Uncle, Primus Joblestone.

Hey do you write screenplays? &mdash 08/05/07 - 12:23:25 AM
You should. Not exactly the way I was seeing it but pretty wild stuff.

Yes I think it does. &mdash 08/05/07 - 12:29:46 AM
I actually would see this relief when I would go to the Museum of Art in New York. It always impressed the heck out of me. It was even a little scary. Glad I found a piece of music for it.
Thanks,

An excellent piece of period music... &mdash 08/04/07 - 06:59:32 AM
This piece definitely evokes the mysterious east.

My throat was parched from the first few bars.

Where's an oasis when you need one.

Take care.

Focused &mdash 08/05/07 - 12:53:28 AM
I tried to find a place for the mood in this song but couldn't quite find the right backdrop until I read the comments, and I agree. I'd even go so far as to imagine a silent movie with this music - something about how each note is accentuated and pronounced. Nothing superfluous. Also reminded me of a MJ song I've heard recently Midi Oleans
It's quite amazing how you create a completely new mood and atmosphere with every new post. Wonderful!

Thanks for the heads up Parichayaka about MidiOrleans Aka Scotty Hill.
to have come across his work and I love it.
You're so right about his use of orchestral strings. Really inspiring.
He truly is a master of the medi. His Gottschalk piece gave me chills with it's brooding beauty. If you haven't already check out his L'Egyptienne by Rameau it's absolutely dazzling. He is one of my favorite Macjamers and I'm glad you've found him as well. Thanks for the note. It's always good to hear from you and thanks for the nice comments about Assyrian King. You're not only a wonderful composer and one of my favorite jamers as well.
Take Care,
Charlie

Flute &mdash 08/05/07 - 01:58:38 PM
I like the sound of the flute, it really reminds me of Egyptian sounds although slow and rhythmic, not hurried. Thanks for sharing. I shall listen to more of your music. It is entertaining.

Charles, you always compose very dramatic and evocative tracks, and this is no exception. Playful but dense, this has a really powerful sense of melody and mystery. excellent work ... can't wait for you to finish your movie!
