These are great words you have for fandango, as you always have with everything!!! I am so glad you enjoyed this. And thank you!!! [ Reply to This ]
Short but poignant &mdash 08/05/07 - 12:25:41 AM
How do you use that word? I mean it in a good way of course! Don't even know why, but to dedicate this song to the citrus grove...put a smile on my face. Your playing is lovely and sounds so effortless. The recording and tuning is a bit rough but that also gives it a very genuine and spontaneous feel. I'm seeing a movie scene with saturated colors somewhere in the South of Italy (Spain rather?). Something about the simplicity of life reflecting in this song? [ Reply to This ]
Thanks for the thoughtful comment, &mdash 08/05/07 - 12:50:07 AM
and nice words. When my Dad was an art teacher in Riverside, California, he rented a small cottage outside of town, in an orange grove. He actually grew up in Ontario, California, and when he said when he was a kid, that town was all orange groves, it is all concrete now. Where I live, we have a couple orange trees and a grapefruit tree. Right now they are in bearing fruit, I find the oranges so nourishing like the fandango. My Dad, had a wonderful book of citrus crate labels, I always loved them, they look kind of like the picture I put up for this song. The music kind of made me think of the paintings of celebration in old California, that I believe were called fandangos, and I think some may have been in Citrus groves. Orange seems to me a social color, as such it is represented in India. I can see this in Italy very much, though!!! Definitely, a put your troubles behind and have fun in the countryside kind of people!!! Yes, rouph and maybe not tuned perfect, but I am glad it works out!!!

a similar strumming style to farrucca, but the farrucca is four, this is twelve based on three. I really appreciate the nice words!!!

very much, memories, and projection into a scenario that once may have existed, a fandango in the groves, that is old califonia celebration in the groves. I little history, the cowboys of california in those days called themselves Californios, and wanted to make california a country of its own. I was in a group called The Californios, quite a few years ago.
