Very.. &mdash 08/05/07 - 07:52:24 AM
Cinematic and musically descriptive. Your pic I suppose began my mental travel and it was like I was travelling/ picking my way through the mountains and forests of Peru or somwhere in South America and discovering those wonderful ruined Cities. I enjoyed this, M [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for the comments. I hoped to make this universal and let the listener travel to the sacred ground of THEIR choice. I'm glad you liked it. [ Reply to This ]
A well done theme.... &mdash 08/05/07 - 08:30:08 AM
I enjoyed listening to this piece of music. It appealed to my cinematic minds eye.
I would love to hear this with a stunning visual production to watch.
Excellent work.

Maybe if I am really lucky someone will pick up this song and put it to a visually stunning major motion picture and I can make enough money retire to Bimini. But for now I am just thankful that you stopped by and let me have your ears for a few minutes. [ Reply to This ]
You never know.... &mdash 08/05/07 - 12:26:38 PM
I've just started on a 'Music for the Media' course where some contacts are always on the look out for new music. I'll keep my ear to the virtual ground and let you know if anything comes up.
It would be a shame if it couldn't be joined to a film production of one sort or another.
Library music is another lucrative arena where you can sell your music to a music database and receive payments if and when someone used your music.
Take care.

Explain more &mdash 08/05/07 - 08:16:22 PM
Interested in what this class is. Sounds like it would be fun because for many musicians and composers making money from music is the hard part and understanding the unique demands of music for media is sometimes difficult for many of them to master. [ Reply to This ]
The site link is..... &mdash 08/06/07 - 04:15:11 PM
The site I found, originally, is www.musicforthemedia.com, and there are two offices, one in London and one in the US, somewhere.
I've almost got my first assignment done, with up to two months to do each assignment, with up to two years to complete the full set of assignments.
It seems, to me, the course is very good at what it does. All the tutors are professional composers.
I might as well try and do something with all my stuff.
Take care.

lovely, bill &mdash 08/06/07 - 08:51:02 PM
nice title, execution and photo. bill - you are THE Man of Many Moods with nary a word sung. i liked the way the progression morphed and kept me off kilter - my fave sound was in the first 1/3 - a panned hard l & r phone ringing or droning bug. nice job of throwing good things into the sound pot and cooking up a super sonic stew. thanks for caring, as well.
i thank you, mother thanks you.

I'm glad you like this. I sort of work the way the mood of the moment dictates and with whatever mood I may be in when I start or with whatever mood the beginning of the process puts me in. [ Reply to This ]
I love &mdash 08/11/07 - 09:53:21 AM
the clarity and spaciousness of your compositions. They really do take your hand and lead you in to them. This one is no exception and is beautiful.
Cheers

Powerful &mdash 08/12/07 - 01:27:41 PM
Bill - this is ace, so much to love - the deep, spacey bass drum, the stately progression of the keyboards, the sweeping strings. Reminds me a little of john carpenters work but, well, better actually. Lovely dramatic piece - and very cinematic.

somehow i'm thinking of a trip starting from the Amazon valley and slowly, deliberately trekking west towards the Andes. i can't explain why...

it's the instrumentation &mdash 08/17/07 - 06:57:32 PM
I used the pan pipes and that always makes me think of the andes.
Around here, in the past, a group of players from the Andes Mountians have been selling their CDs of at local flea markets. I always wondered why Northern Ohio? The stuff they play as demos always sounds pretty good though. I always loved the sound of the pan pipes but and set out to figure a way to use that sound at least once in one of my songs.
thanks for the visit. [ Reply to This ]
