Description:
Recorded in 1994, this is my first inclusion in the Analogapalooza 2007 Festival. It's one of the songs from an early iteration of my musical, Creature, (originally title "Frankenstein, A Man-Made Messiah"). Sadly, this song didn't make it to the final version performed at the John Houseman in 1998.

Vocals are by Jessica Flood, playing the part of Elisabeth, Victor Frankenstein's love interest, muse, and ambitious catalyst. In this show, Victor is a sculptor as well as a scientist. Elisabeth wants him to remake her to be more beautiful as well as immortal. She hopes it will start a new religion... with her as its Madonna, no doubt.

Other songs from Creature include:
A Promise (with Woody Mankoswki)
Dreams (with Emily Rohm)
Dressing For Death (with Suzanne)
Plus, all the Creature jazz renditions...

Other songs with Jessica: Sweet Liberty

Artwork is Finding Galatea: A Self-Portrait, a 3D rendering I did in 1999, inspired by the 1890 oil masterpiece, "Galatea and Pygmalion," by Jean-Léon Gérome.

Lyrics:
POSE FOR YOU

Take my flesh into your hands.
Let your imagination run wild.
Let me pose for you without clothes for you.
Invent a look, create a form, bring me style.

Make your art come alive.
Living Art we’ll make thrive.
Human clay we’ll shape any old way!

The whole world will be putty in our hands when
You can make them live again.
Look what happened last time
someone gave them art this sublime!

If I pose before I decompose,
Metamorph like a butterfly,
Be immortalized.

Make me come alive!
Yes, my time’s arrived!
Let me advertise and glamorize you.

Let me pose for you…
I’ll be your poster wild child,
The pin-up queen on ev’ry wall.
Fame and fawning fans will
Make me rich while…I have it all!

Can you conceive of this: The Living Artist Witch!
Can you fulfill this niche with the Rising Resurrection Bitch!
Let me pitch your talents to that swaggering and opulent crew.
Let me hitch my wagon to your cogitating procreation school.
Let me pose for you.

Let me pose, pose for you,
Over expose just for you
Here in the marrow of the earth...
give art birth.

Let me mesmerize.
I can traumatize.
I will be your prize!
Let me pose for you.

Quality just shines through &mdash 08/07/07 - 04:49:18 AM
Great arrangement, swinging between so many different styles. Very demanding vocally but she carries it off well.

Good stuff :-)

Cheers

Dick

I was hoping you'd listen and enjoy this, Dick. I thought it was something you'd appreciate.

Jessica joined a rock group after college, Missing Marcus, but has more recently struck out on her own. She's in the Ithaca NY area. This year she was in an original stage show, too, called "Harriet's Kitchen" (Jessica plays Harriet.) Great to see her back on the theatrical stage, she's a powerhouse.

Good Show &mdash 08/10/07 - 06:14:55 AM
No posing here, this is a really good recording of a really good song. Jessica's voice was made for this song and the arrangement is consistently entertaining through all its changes. Bravo.

Thanks
Bill
