Description:
A collaboration which began with a very simple acoustic song and evolved into the horrible monster you have here - enjoy!

Lyrics:
Hoist up the sail, it's time to get away from here

The moon has told the stars about our love affair

The wind has whispered in my open ears

You said you were married to a man twice your age

You weren't a wife, you were more of a slave

And for his sins the winds swept him away

But don't you ask me where we're going to

And don't you tell me that you're staying here to live in fear

On an island that you described as hell

Climb on board my magic ship

Let me show you 'round the world a bit

Leave your problems on dry land

If you don't believe in god, I know you'll change your mind when you're rolling over 50 foot waves; you'll be seeing... ...angels

Great Tune! &mdash 08/27/04 - 01:22:48 PM
I'm into it. Good mix on the music and handling of
the background vocals. They support the song really
well and give the tune a Pink Floyd-like, ethereal
quality. Good job.

I agree, Great Tune... &mdash 08/27/04 - 04:21:24 PM
Although it might be better situated in the Rock genre as oppose to SoftRock/Adult. You may get more listens in that category. Anyway, I like the way the song starts slowly with deep vocals and then builds in intensity to the end. Very effective. A solid rock tune.

Lyrics, please &mdash 08/27/04 - 10:51:44 PM
This is a fine song. Love to see the words posted here.
Deep, weathered voice fills the aural cavity you have
created. Pleasing to me.

The guitars start to get lost in reverberosity toward the
end. But the lead voice remains front and center. Good
job.

cool soundscapes &mdash 08/28/04 - 08:39:17 AM
Very interesting background guitars, good drums and
vocals.

Sometimes the background gets a bit muddy and far-away
sounding, especially in the first half of the song. It seems
better balanced in the loud section towards the end.

Pleasant to listen to overall. I agree that this song might
be better placed in the "Rock" genre.

The production &mdash 08/28/04 - 09:49:55 AM
sounds a little muffled. You mentioned that this is a
collaboration, could there be a loss in fidelity from
"bouncing" tracks or something? Anyway, that aside, I
think this is a great tune that definitely evokes Pink Floyd
circa The Wall. Great work, and would polish up nicely
with some remastering. 8-7-8-8 (7 on Production on the
strength of the performance!)

Very Psychadelic &mdash 08/28/04 - 12:08:29 PM
I liked the build of the song. It was kinda like "old west"
meets Pink Floyd. Good cohesion for a collaborative work.

I do think that the production needs a little work though.
There was a crispness that was missing. Maybe a remix
would bring the marks up a bit.

Solid tune. 7-6-8-7

Vocals &mdash 08/28/04 - 01:26:00 PM
What I find really striking about this song is the double
tracked vocals on the chorus and the way the higher voice
is out of snyc and phased. It's a really really nice touch.

I find the second half of the song much more compelling
than the first.

Very cool texture &mdash 09/07/04 - 05:52:24 PM
Very cool rolling lyrics, like a sea of metaphors drowning a
past all a-swirl. Nice textures created to specifically work
for this song; great concept and follow thru. Fascinating
track. Bold and comprehensive.
