Description:
a rockin tune (retro punk/classic rock) with a caveat- an incessant bass guitar hook with a mad punk guitar solo in the middle section

Lyrics:
Let me crawl into your soul
Piece you to a whole
Heat you up with Promethean fire
Fill you with desire so deep
It can never be filled.

Don’t come too close
Or you may get cut
Don’t come too close
Or the weight of your presence
May crush what we have
Don’t come too close
The edges of my heart
Are sharp and brittle like broken glass.

Let me dance on the wings of your desire
Let me creep into your dreams
Nothing’s as it seems
Slide into your emptiness
Smother you with promises
Fill you with desire so deep
You’ll never be satisfied.

What will you do?

kick it &mdash 08/07/07 - 12:19:54 AM
great thumping drive on this one... bass line anchors the track, and the dirty, ace frehley guitars are a nice suprise....

thx for the comments - yah the dirty guitars lend the track a real grunge atmo - and yah it thumps - i wish i could sell a song like this to the right type of artist - the performance I feel captures the concept pretty well- and it's a mischievous romp of a piece.

Great ! &mdash 08/07/07 - 09:32:27 AM
what a killer tone is that ??, your vocal really fits the music, the solo in the middle skilled very much and right in the place, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK IN THIS STYLE.
Welcome To MJ !!

Take Care

Has a classic Cult feel! I would throw some guitar behind that solo!

Retro feel .. &mdash 08/12/07 - 04:07:03 AM

.. for sure. Great performances: singing, guitars etc.
Was quite punky .. but still the metal end of the
rock genre .. IMO grunge would have more groove/rockn'roll swing. The Ace Frehley-esque solo was quite a surprise, in this context, but cool all the
same. The rhymes in the lyrics are a bit cheesy to be honest (IMO)... though I like 'slide into .. " and the
"smother you .." lines.

Good mix - would agree with the Dr. .. a second guitar track backing up the solo wouldn't go amiss.

Thanks for sharing.

thx apb &mdash 08/12/07 - 02:57:04 PM
enjoyed the tour of ur studio! yeah mad guitar would kick 4 sure- but this piece was recorded as a four-piece- vocal/organ, guitar, bass, and drums - so i wanted to maintain that small ensemble real rock band feeling- i listened to a lot of jim morrison when i did this vocal and also read a lof his poetry - "promises" and "emptiness" r themes that r rife in the music of the doors- to whom i credit my primary inspiration.

thank u for commenting

So, this is the first song I've heard of yours DJ. Sonny Jim put me onto you. Said you were an experimental man of considerable talent. Well, and this song certainly shows it. Can't wait to listen to more of your stuff. This is a rockin' keeper. GREAT intro bassline. 0->60 in no time flat.
