At first let me say, i'm really glad you uploaded a tone that i can know who are you.
This is more than great, classical and in the intro it was sad and i loved it. i loved the music you did and really took me far away from this world (touch me).
The quality is great to show who you are and DIG THIS MUSIC !!
Keep up the good work

This has enough familiarity (in that Air on the G String reference), and enough shifting strangeness to carry with real style those passages that flirt with the dangerously cheesy. A seductive crash-up on Boylston St, I think.
Keep 'em coming.

hehe - r u just mind-reading me or what?!? a lot of the harmonies are classically derived and i buried a lot of familiar references in the track - they are there- except augmented, in retrograde, or inverted - like pieces to a puzzle- all in all it still had to be reflective of who i am as an artist on the deepest level - yep - lots of wild scenes on boylston st for sure :)

anything about Boylston St and don't care where your derivations come from,( I also recognised certain familiarities but.....) this is lovely playing and beautiful music. if you read the forum about 'what makes you c.....' Well this did... a couple of times, M

I especially like the mood you set in the beginning. The picture also fits really well. Unless I looked at it wrong you are new to MJs. Welcome (I'm pretty new too) and I look forward to hearing more of your posts!

...nice description, too.
You one talented dude, you be...
Curious: how did you place the mic(s)? I've got an upright and a tune I wrote. Know it's different than your (Baby?) Grand...but this is a really fine sound and wondering how you got it (other than technique/touch)?
djdrshaman
this is a bosendorfer baby grand- which has a lot of boom in the low register- so to get this soiund i set up three mics - one over the strings in the lower register of the piano, one to pick up the nuances of the upper register - and another to pick up the room's acoustic- this rounds out the sound- and if need be- i mix in more room sound and less lower register to attain a finer balance- i hope this answers your question. :)

Listening to your work is a very pleasant experience. You have such a gift with music. Wow...Wonderful pianist and writer. I am so impressed and so looking forward to hearing more of your music! I would appreciate it though if you would play a little crummy once in awhile just so that some of us(me)would not look so bad :) This is a great place to be - Welcome!

A very nice piece of music. You never loose the tension which throws through the whole tune.
Very nice composition and wonderful played.
And, as a personal taste, I love the Bosendorfer sound: Full and with marvellous warm colours in the mids. Piano is always dificult to record. Good job!
Thanks a lot for sharing!

...is about as peaceful as can be. I am so glad that you kept this simple and let the colors of your harmonic shifts do all the work of painting the picture. I always love the 2nds that resolve: just the little tension that's often needed. ... You dip into a bit of pop harmonic structure about 3/4 of the way in and the structure changes. It's not unpleasant, just took me off guard. . . I never have luck micing my Mason-Hamlin. I always get the mechanical noise. You've got that down. Great job. I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. So peaceful.
Peace.
