Description
This is another retread I've been working on off and on for a while now. I went back and re-recorded the guitars and vocals. The percussion, bass an synths are the same as before, maybe just tweaked a bit. It's definitely a "wall of sound" piece with plenty of backing vocals this time and a wash of different oohs and aahs. It may get a little muddy at times, but it's a work in progress and it's making me push my Logic Express limits so I have to learn new stuff.
This is an old song, written almost 20 years ago now, when I was in college. It's part of a three-song series of maudlin, angst-ridden songs that were just perfect for the mid to late 80s.
Enjoy.

Lyrics
The sun sets in the eastern sky
clouds grow heavy with the rain of confusion
A lonely man sits on the edge of a dream
He sees the sunset of the age of reason
He sees the sunset of the age of reason
Above the Earth, a thousand miles high
No sign of strife or endless turmoil
A lonely woman sits on the edge of a dream
Blind to the sunset of the age of reason
Blind to the sunset of the age of reason
I heard it from a prophet on cable TV
He knew what was best for me
I saw the words written in the book of time
This is the sunset of the age of reason
This is the sunset of the age of reason
The night falls and the children cry
victims of fear and endless darkness
A lonely child smiles at the thought of his dream
He sees the sunrise of the age of reason
He sees the sunrise of the age of reason
clouds grow heavy with the rain of confusion
A lonely man sits on the edge of a dream
He sees the sunset of the age of reason
He sees the sunset of the age of reason
Above the Earth, a thousand miles high
No sign of strife or endless turmoil
A lonely woman sits on the edge of a dream
Blind to the sunset of the age of reason
