Thank You Feter
I used a latin lounge loop in 16, ofcourse I am playing four, but the sixteen is four fours. My sister and myself are going to take argentinian tango dance classes and I have been influenced by the Argentinian tango music that I have been hearing lately, so yes this a new sound, different than the flamenco tango, though this may sound more like salsa music, I am not familiar enough with both to distinguish. I improvised a chord progression and melodies, then improvised to both of those, though I had somewhat of an idea as to what I was going to do with the first track. I am ready for winter, the heat can get draining!!

Thanks Yemen,...
This Argentinian tango stuff is a natural place to go so far, though I have yet to go too deep into it. It is really related to flamenco, while it is Latin, it is also Italian, there are many Italians in Argentina, I look forward to heading to that area!!!!

simple and sweet
I like it. However the percussion is a bit repetitive... How about if you record them separately, then go back and replace the drums with a loop that switches to a slightly different loop during your refrain, to break it up a little? The constant triangle-ding throughout was distracting. Or, maybe if you edited the loop and made the triangle hit less often it would help. But the guitar melody was nice.

Thanks Eduard,...
I am glad you liked it. I understand what you are saying entirely. I had the same complaint from my Dad about "A Longing Sound". I had used one percussion loop for 16 minutes. I actually wanted to have it vary, but I thought while I was improvising I wouldn't know when loops would change, is what was really required was a live percussionist so you can get an interaction, so I decided to use one loop and consider it a techno, or new age type of element. In this case I wanted to use more than one loop, but my garage band world music loops only had one loop that fit the rythm of the piece, and that was "latin lounge". Since I really felt like finally doing something with this latin tango, I decided to go ahead and do it with one loop. But yes, I agree completely.

Entering your headspace
I like your intimate penpal sketches. Like getting a letter from an Alpine wanderer.

thank richard,..
My headspace, I was just up in the mountains where my Dad, sister and his wife live. There is a rugged individuality up there, people do everything for themselves, build their own fences, cut their own wood. My sister is Spanish and is signing me up for Argentinian tango classes down here in the valley. We were listening to tango at the house, this is similar, but I will find out more about it when I start taking classes. Allot of trees up there, and blues taverns, but I haven't had the guts to stray into one, with all of those choppers parked outside, they look like pretty rouph places. But I did go to the lake and swim, where they had a country band playing, a totally safe place, just cowboys in swim suits, the music I remember was Emmy Lou Harris. I did play flamenco for the neighbors at a combined birthday part for my Dad and Sister. My Dad's birthday falls on the same day as the biggest annual meteor shower, the perseids, so we watched that, as strong winds moved through the trees, pretty magical up there, a little spooky too with those strong winds. Everyone has dogs, all the sudden an outbreak of maybe a hundred dogs will start up with barks, no one tells them to be quiet or put them in the house, that is a kind spirit of freedom I admire!!! Just thought I would put the songs story in words!!!

Nice work...
Hey! After all the deleted tunes it's nice to happen upon something! What happened to those other posts?

Anyway, this is real nice Ian. You're getting better and better at jamming with yourself. I really like the rhythmic aspect of your guitar playing in this one. Nice lead tones too!

Be well bro!

Thanks Mike,...
I can say for you, your improvising is just getting better and better. Mike I have deleted some tunes, choose what I feel is the best of pieces that contain allot of the same melody, I am trying to make my list a concept album online. The rythm in is is different, not as much flamenco as it is Argentinian tango, which has an Italian element, but the approach is flamenco!!!
