Description:
Jordizzle. T-Lick, and WERD on the cut n beat. the MCs stood up with the mic so the volume and mixing goes up and down. but other than that we made this in a matter of 4 hours.

man I wish &mdash 08/22/07 - 10:32:14 PM
we lived closer to each other ....I really enjoyed the beat nice ol school funk track .........as you said the vocals are week and I can now listen to music through my monitors and they should be redone if thats possible ....as with any art form Emceein takes discipline .....you need to make thase cats stand still and do multi takes until you get it polished .....I remeber lots of frustrating nights tryin to get vocal takes sometimes 20 hours just on vocal takes ..this was back when I had my shitty mics , in the basement , people talkin , tv all loud .....im not sayin all music has to be polished and compleately on point even this last track I did could use some serious polish .....but recording Mcees aint about holdin the mic and grabbin your sac ...its about getting that creamy take so people want to listen to your noise . If a choppy so unpolished sound was what you were goin for ...then right on but its a shame to muddy up the beat with such distorted lyrics .....hell the last song you posted vocals take was awesome. I liked the song alot liked the old school b-boy style to the emcees just wish it were alittle easier on the ears . Man when you get a fat mic your goin to be unstopable Werd ! [ Reply to This ]

for sure man. i know what you are saying. it was a bit rushed concidering today was the last day for one guy but when he comes back we could try to fine tune it.
on the last track, we had the same mic but we were a bit more causious about recording. i guess just learn and revise.
thanks a bunch for keepin it real with the info.
peace! [ Reply to This ]

cool man! happy to hear you could stop by. vocals are on the ruff side, but i guess the only thing to do now is improve and practice the art we call mastering!

listening to your words and the rhythm of the words and to me that's all good (not talking the recording here, as the experts are already on the case LOL) the second vocal seemd a bit loose timing-wise though. I like the backing sounds too, but in this genre I'm only the 'layman'. These other guys who've given their advice are the experts and it's great to hear/read of their willingness to help you. It's also terrific that you take their criticism in the way it's intended and on the chin as you do, good stuff, regards M [ Reply to This ]

thanks for the feedback about the rythm and words. there is always room to improve and when i hear what can be done from other ears it is always helpful because i may hear it in a different way than you do so it is very helpful to know whats up from all angles. thanks again!
