Lyrics:
a break in
forbidden candy
just smoke him
because he knows what you don't know
get me a screw on head Abe declares now beware don't let patience lead you astray get to where Gung lay and put a stop to this unfantastic demigod the whole entire world needs you right now
It's just an old dirty piece of crap
He's so excited, He just made
Water in, pantaloon, No
Do I look mortal to you?
No you stop right there
No you stop right there
I told you not to put the candy in your mouth
I told you not to put the candy in your mouth
I told you not to put the candy in your mouth
I told you not to put the candy in your mouth
Now you can have, an army of,
an army of, of the undead
The demigod commanding you
The demigod commanding you
Rise, don't look away
Rise, don't look away
He makes them go away
He makes them go away
He died screaming curse
Screw On Head
And there's more nightmares on the way....

This is dark, in your face and busy, busy, busy! I'm more of an old school grinder but this is some cool shit man! Clean production to boot. Nice job all around. [ Reply to This ]

Very Mike Patton of you Ian... love this part.
Overall the song rocks, of course, but there are a few parts that make it a bit hard to listen to; the first droning "Get Me A Screw On Head" part runs a little long I think.
But then towards the end of the middle to end of the piece the energy picks back up. I like the synchronization between the snare and guitars throughout. The drums are excellent throughout - you get a great metal sound from an old set. The snare is huge.
Interesting that you didn't use TRacks to master. Any particular reason why?
Anyway, great effort as always.

cause T-Racks is of the devil.....I use to use it but no longer do.....if anyone out there is using it STOP!!!!! there is a t-racks fm sizzle that will not go away no matter how many times you beg....besides the multiband compressor in logic is oh so nice and easy to use....t-racks is dead to me
peace
sorry bout the drone part but there is so much to that story I already couldn't use....I just couldn't let go.....besides.... what's more Patton-esqe than driving a listner mad?? FNM 4 LYFE YO!!

T-Racks &mdash 08/27/07 - 10:54:28 AM
When I had a crappy ProTools setup, I used to use the TRacks EQ but I didn't have the full mastering plug-in. I found that the EQ was very over the top and sometimes added distortion.
Interesting that you like the Logic multiband compressor - I really dislike the standard Logic compressor (I can't seem to stop it from pumping) but have never used the multiband one. Personally I'm a big fan of Acuma's Final Mix for mastering - the multiband compressor sounds really nice and open, plus it comes for free with Tracktion, which I use for tracking and mixing.

That is some of the most awesome metal drumming i've heard in a long time. I love Mignola's stuff too. There's a metalhead in every comic fanboy! The vocal is great too - great death growl. Kudos! [ Reply to This ]
yes and... &mdash 08/29/07 - 05:33:58 AM
i forgot to say, great bass too. Something that often gets forgotten in a metal song.
