Description:
I got the idea for this when I came home from my trip to Tenerife with my class from school. This is greatly inspired by the incidents and adventures we had there - especially the more dangerous ones. There were several such cases.

This is my first upload in months, so please give me your honest opinion!

Enjoy!

Bond James Bond &mdash 08/27/07 - 06:27:19 PM
Interestingly enough, several times in the past few weeks I've thought, 'hmm, haven't heard anything new from Einar for a while... wonder what he's up to?' ... so it's great to hear a new track from you!

I like the way it builds, then returns to the quieter mood of the opening. When it launches into the high energy section, it's vey slickly done, and reminds me of music in James Bond movies.

(Just curious, but are you planning to study music in unviersity? It's a tough career, but you seem to definitely have what it takes.)

Anyway, great stuff, and I hope you find time to write more!

VERY NICE &mdash 08/27/07 - 08:00:59 PM
It has a very somber feel to it. Very well constructed and quite entertaining. Love the build and the dramatic feel of this piece. Sounds very reflective of a disaster unfolding before your ears visually.

Another tune from Ein!
(It's been tooooo long.)

Love the build-up on this and the unexpected chord progression.
I agree with composerclark--you have a gift for composition.
Hoping to hear more from you soon :)

Thanks for this one!

screams talent &mdash 08/27/07 - 11:01:28 PM
Not only is this song completely creative (one of the most professional ones I've found on here), but it just grabs you from the beginning and keeps pulling you in. You're really intelligent when it comes to this kind of music. For some reason, I picture some of the most dramatic scenes from Phantom of the Opera paired with this song in a movie trailer, like the famous chandelier crash during Christine Daae's abduction, followed by the daring rescue. Lol. That's just me though ;)

Good to see .. &mdash 08/28/07 - 07:12:49 AM
.. you back Einar. This is a composition and performance that shows such musical maturity. Some lovely bass sounds for starters, and a very "serious" sound to the piano - love how it takes off with the guitars and drums then drops back to the cello/bass riffs. Excellent production too - nice build. Very good post!

Nice Job____ &mdash 08/28/07 - 07:21:53 AM
I think what I liked the most was how it took a turn from major to minor mood (Light to Dark)and I wasn't expecting it. I'm going to have to listen a few more times because I know there are things I missed. D/L & Faved.

Very nicely done, Thanks for sharing,

mvh : )

Shivers! &mdash 08/28/07 - 03:23:25 PM
This runs shivers up my back man! It has that dark edge That I really dig. Great production all around. I think it's awesome and don't be disconcerted, It took me damn near 3 months to post my last one ;-P It's the end result and the fact that you did post one that counts. The cellos were quite haunting. beautiful work.

Awesome! &mdash 08/28/07 - 08:23:31 PM
I love it when the heavy drums and guitars suddenly kick in. Woke me up completely! This is such a great track. I can see it with one of the Bourne movies perhaps? The piano really keeps this moving along and holds everything together.
I ended up posting Iceland, BTW. Did you still want to work on it?

great song!! &mdash 08/28/07 - 11:09:36 PM
I love how you start out with simple piano that is soft and so delicate and the cellos come in and the story has begun. The imagination takes over as to what will happen next. Then the drums, just enough to get your heart pumping harder. The guitars kick in and suddenly, I am taken away. The climax at the end with all instruments together in harmony for the cause...and ending with my favorite, piano - Nice! This is an awesome job you have done here. I really enjoyed this very much. Thank you for sharing.

So good to hear you back &mdash 08/29/07 - 11:19:26 AM
Nice "break through the block" song... excellent restraint while you slowly build, great layering & composition, although a little repetitive, you cover that by doing fun chord shifts in the middle, and seamlessly moving to bigger grittier sounds, until you drift gently to the end. I like the theme, its very Einarish sounding... definitely a good thing. I'm not a big fan of the noisy grungy "lots of constant drums, snares, and gritty guitars" sound in most alternative rock, but you pulled it off here in the middle by not dwelling there too long.

Some journey &mdash 08/29/07 - 03:49:24 PM
down to Tenerife, eh?! Must have been some action there! ;-)

I think the special feeling in this song is due to the dichotomy [a division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different - from MacOS built in Dictionary] between the "simple" piano and the more complex background.

And to the fact that it is very Ein! Songs worth waiting for!!

Thank you!

Dude... &mdash 09/03/07 - 12:39:23 PM
When you're a super-rich Icelandic film composer, remember us little people...

So... I take it you've already got the Ray-Bans, huh?

This one is great, Einarus. I feel, lately, like I'm out of superlatives, but that's me running out of words and maybe brain cells, not you running out of musical coolness...

Is it weird... &mdash 09/03/07 - 06:48:23 PM
to fave on the first few notes of hearing a song? Well, I just know I can expect a great piece from you. But then, this one takes off. Wonderful. I was thinking of Phantom of the Opera-ish soundtrack, too. Thanks for submitting your work. I feel privileged.

Intensity &mdash 09/14/07 - 09:16:05 PM
I love the intensity of the low strings with the low-sounding piano ostinato.

The entrance of the subtle techo-stuff is very effective.

The entrance of the hard-rock drums and guitar is great. Reminds me of the Paul McCartney song, "Live And Let Die," when the loud part starts.

What's your piano software? It sounds very good.

What film scores should sound like. &mdash 09/24/07 - 09:59:46 AM
Its a great mix of melancholy and excitement. I like it one never dominates the other. I love this sound. Keep it up!

Brilliant .. &mdash 09/26/07 - 04:26:58 PM

.. and he's back with avengeance! I thought: piano
is very beautiful and hypnotic .. then in comes the
synth .. wow .. then beats and rockier edge .. the
build up and easing back is as noted by many awesome... very clever pacing here, just right voices entering at the right times. I only have one quibble .. and it's when the cello's?/deeper orchestral strings come in ..
something isn't as smooth as the other changes .. it
might be the combo of their rhythm and the quite
stuttery drum beat underneath...second listen, I
would say too many double bass drum beats at that
bit .. small nit in an otherwise darn near flawless soundtrack piece. Oh .. and it sounds 'in time' to me
;o) Esquisite, really .. hats off.
