Description:
This is a bit of an experimental Ambient piece. I try to explore changing the musical phrases, where you would expect the music to go one way, I change the obvious. Not always but enough to stand out.
The possibilities of this piece are many. Let me know what you think of mix #1.

hey there &mdash 08/29/07 - 11:14:33 PM
i don't know why, but i like the second half of the song better than the first. i think because the rhythm is less straight ahead. this held my interest, but to be completely honest, i prefer the other pieces you've been doing. this is very soundtrack sounding, but less emotional than your usual output. not saying it's bad by any stretch of the word. now i feel like i shouldn't have even commented. whatever, i still think you excel at your craft. taste is a funny thing (think we had that conversation B4). It's good that you did comment.... &mdash 08/30/07 - 11:48:35 AM
If I take each part of your comment separately, it all fits together. I know what you mean, although I didn't know that I wrote/recorded emotionally, but that's fine. Mental music makes my head hurt so there's hopefully not too much of that sort of music from me. Until tomorrow that is....
I am in a film score or cinematic soundtrack mode at the moment, for a few minutes, so any and all sorts will/can leave my mind via my finger ends, to reach the fine people at MJ's.
Your comments always make a mark and are always food for thought.
Take care.

In your Tangerine Dream mode here. &mdash 08/30/07 - 10:45:00 AM
I could see this in a film inter cutting from one scene to the next as you switch into different sections. You're never afraid to play and experiment which is one of the things I love about your music.
Best,
Charlie

Hi Charlie.... &mdash 08/30/07 - 11:55:22 AM
Tangerine Dream again. Mmmm. With a little bit of Eno and probably some of my other favourite artists influincing different portions of this (and others) of my Tensions series. I've just to finalise version 2, which is another varied assortment of not quite resolved electronic phrases, mixed and melded together in a Devil-may-care way.
I've enjoyed following some of the links to your other music sites and will be continuing this adventure later.
Take care.

Well done... &mdash 08/30/07 - 04:48:22 PM
This has really a cinematic touch. I hear not only Tangerine Dream but some Jean Michel Jarre, too..
The way you morphed the phrases is really nice.
Very interesting, the second half is more experimental and not as mainstream as the first, but it is very interesting anyway.
Yes, by hearing it again, I find more J.M.Jarre...
Well done!

Thanks for your instructive comments.
Yes, there is more than one 'theme' and they are intermixed, but in a way that adds 'tension' to the listener, so they don't quite know what's coming next.
Take care.
Paul.
