Didn't know that guys could do bluses and make it have such a sensual feel to it... Some deeply rich textures in each of the instruments, including RC's vox. Everything is nicely melded together, but commingling in ways that might get talked about in hushed tones...
Nice job switchn' up, McB - Nice job fellas. Macca
RacerX
...i'm replying in a hushed commingling fashion....r.c. and mcboy kicked ass...i mean bopped booty on this track....i'm very impressed how well they played off the basic track...
thanks for the comment
Macaudion
you made me laugh! that was good...

I just love music!
DOCTORBIZARRE
This track smokes! Rob your vocals are great on this. Nice swagger! Best I've heard from you and the lyrics are superb, I love it! McBoy's addition set this pup off! Nice one Paul Gilbert!
RacerX
Thanks Dr.'zarre,
I agree. R.C. and Mcboy took this 'pup' out for good walk.
I'm not affiliated with RacerX/PaulGilbert. As some may know, I'm Speed Racer's older, mysterious brother, RacerX....but he's not sure who I am. maybe I'm not sure either..anyway thanks for stopping by
jiguma
Great to hear you here on MJ again Rob - wonderful vocal! What else can I say - perfect guitars, and near perfect bass andf drums (there was one glitchy nanosecond). Rob, you must have had a ball. The production is excellent - almost too good for blues ;)
Superb guitars guys!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love it,
Neil
RacerX
on the drums..I think I nudged a bar-length piece of a loop out of place .. . yikes
Rob sounds great! Mcboy fits into every spot of the track with tasty riffs. thanks for stopping by!
ledebutant
You guys make an absolutely great virtual band. The vocals are hot, lyrics are just great (especially love the chorus) the bassline throbs and drives the song and the solos are just the smoking of smokingnest. The whole thing is just killer.
I have to especially compliment RacerX on how much he stepped back and let Rob and McBoy shine, because he's a great player and singer in his own right.
Also, Rob, I can't tell you how happy I am to hear your voice. I'm sure you're going to hear that over and over again this week, but it's true.
ledebutant
VERY nice song art.
RacerX
..we recorded this non-virtually, at RC's bayou recording bungaloo, afterwards Mcboy took us out for ice cream. funny..we all ordered mint-chocolate chip
ledebutant
That's because everyone wants to be like McBoy. He ordered first, didn't he? Did y'all wear capris to the ice-cream parlor? It's hot down there! ;-)
RacerX
I think I was wearing a cape. I think we all were wearing capes. Mcboy ordered last , mint chocolate chip, and of course, we changed our orders to be like Mcboy
ledebutant
Just capes?
Macaudion

For your wonderful comment

As soulful as it comes... Sometimes simple bass lines like this lays the ground for such fun to happen on top of it.
To my personal taste I think this piece could use a little tightening of some of them bolts, it may seem a bit loose at some points...
But that is in no way standing in the way of all the goodness that is included along the time line.
Your voice is truly good RC. And the way you have put your words along this one is very likable:)
All guitars and groovy things shows proof of great musicianship.
RacerX
Thanks Thoddi,
I hear you have a flare for the blues. Any 'looseness' in this track is because of me. I think the drum loops are not ideal for this piece. and at least in one spot, a piece of a loop shifted and added to a loose feel.
I think RC and Mcboy performed so well on the track. I very happy thay could contribute ,thanks for your comments and for stopping by!
J.A.Stewart
Delicious guitar sounds from McBoy make this one hum.
RC's *croaking* didn't seem to hurt, either. LOL
Very cool collab all the way around. ;)

RacerX

Fine, fine, tune, boys. I especially love the bass line and relaxed Mcboy stylings. Rob your voice is astonishing, as usual. (miss you around here, by the way!) I'd pay to see the live version.
RacerX

...who flies all over the house, here. Whenever something good's coming out of these computer speakers (or my guitars), she perches on my shoulder to give a listen.
Needless to say....

I'm not exactly a blues fan, but this is stunning. Top class track. And always great to hear Rob's vocals as well.

RacerX
Rob sounds great on this! I suppose blues is a pretty general term. This has the blues feel with a non-traditional blue progression. sort of a blend of blues, jazz and rock.but it has the shuffle beat. thanks for your comments!
thetiler
It is amazing that you have the queen of hearts. I remember Gregg Allman of the Allman Bros. was dating my tenant when I lived near San Francisco. He would come around the back of the house and I remember when he was playing one of my guitars, we were jammin a bit. He had a tattoo of the queen of hearts on the inside of one of his arms. I just thought it was interesting that they are world famous for the blues of this type of sound and that kind of style and seeing the queen of hearts.
Rob has the soul of a singer like gregg, very cool-raspy sounding for sure. And of course the no-holds barred electric guitar slinger Mcboy lets loose.
Way to go the both of you!
RacerX
I wouls say for sure Rob has that Greg vocal thing going AND Mcboy plays with the touch and feel of Duane on this track. cool story thanks for sharing!
composerclark
wow, you guys sound great! the vocals are amazing, and the rest of it ain't too shabby either. what's a prs ce22? i gotta take up smokin and start stayin out till dawn.
RacerX
Paul Reed Smith guitar, Santana uses a PRS.
mine is a CE-22: 22 frets, bolt on neck. The more fancy/pricey PRSs have a glued in neck. Great tone, lots like a Les Paul, but sweeter sound and lots of sustain. They have hummbuckers with coils switching so you split the coils and have a single coil tone as well. versitile guitars. great live sound. thanks for stopping by and taking a listen!
SlimGirlFat
Wow,
This is just wonderful.. First track I heard this morning.
Rob, you sound WONDERFUL here!
RacerX and Mcboy.. FABULOUS playing..
Mightly chilled out right now.
Slimmie
RacerX
for the very nice comment! I very happy you are chilled by the sound of the track. thanks for stopping by and having as listen!
SickTransit
...you spilled some whiskey on the guitar! What a barroom jam this is! Gravelly, lush, a fat (and phat) solo, I could practically smell the cigarette smoke emitting from the speakers (and this in a smoke-free state). Very nicely done.
RacerX
Mcboy and RC really nailed the atmosphere. thanks for stopping by!
John Stebbe
Reminds me of Lynrd Skynrd.
Your voice is just right for this track. Frank Sinatra would not feel at home! But you've got more of the feel like Meat Loaf / John Belushi / Joe Cocker. Love that vibe.
The electric guitar solo is just great. Very Pink Floyd.
OK, now I know what this reminds me of. "Smokin' In The Boys' Room" by Brownsville Station, around 1973. Same voice, same attitude.
Great work!
lengold
Superb.
Cheers
