Every new year and about christmas time,I do write a series of pieces .I just love
the winter season ,I always mixed
that feeling with my own Diary
as any other pieces .. !
the rain and the wind ..sure
for where I was living were
a sighn of mercy to me .. !
so these are very welcoming

Not one but 3... &mdash 08/30/07 - 03:41:05 PM
Uplifting and joyful music Feter.
lovely modern baroque gems from you Feter.
The first was sweet and breezy, the second more contemplative with some modern discord - which I love.
The last had a lovely melody adorned with a fluttering conter melody.
It's not the season but a very welcome gift from you Feter to all of us.
Take care my friend,
Charlie

Excellent piece Feter &mdash 08/30/07 - 04:48:03 PM
I feel that better sounds would give it yet another boost.

If you've a midi file I'd love to have a go at it.

I'm away for a couple of weeks but if you want me to do anything I'll pick it up in September.

Cheers

intriguing sweet suite &mdash 08/30/07 - 05:04:10 PM
The first part felt somewhat experimental, the second felt warm, the third felt a bit Renaissance-like. I liked your writing, very nice counterpoint in spots. The instruments themselves sounded a little bit synthy, and some parts of your composition, when all instruments were playing together, it got a little bit muddy... but that would be fixed with better instrument samples and a little more left/right separation... or maybe you can get this performed by a real woodwind ensemble, that would be great! This is nice writing, I'm impressed!

Draki ..its certainly a pleasure to read
your comments .so Glad you enjoyed the Suite
sure ..these samples now so old but this is
what I had back when I was writing them on
fruityloops cheepo samples ..but they are
OK .. Indeed my friend ..redone with lil
panning ..or the biggest dream to listen
to a real Winds ensmable playing them ..
that would be a big Amen ...

thank you

Lovely! &mdash 08/30/07 - 05:22:09 PM
I really enjoyed listening to this, Feter. A delightful listening experience and really charming. I don't feel technically skilled enough to talk about what you've done, but I know I like it. Depending on the sound quality (I'll need to listen to it again), I'd like to play this on the Christmas edition of my podcast music show, if you'd be agreeable?

...of the 'old & new'...there are elements of 'neo Renaissance & Baroque' as well as early 20th Century French wind chamber music.
This is really nice Feter & I enjoyed listening to it!

Wonderful .... &mdash 08/30/07 - 05:34:37 PM
Feter,
These are simply beautiful gemstones in your unique style of contemporary-renaissance writing. I love the way you trill %u2014 it's kind of upside-down and I just think it is so very clever and beautiful to hear....All 3 movements have their own charm. I liked No. 2 best because it is so mournful. No. 3 was a delight, esp. the open 5ths at the end that keep this so characteristic. I think you have really expanded your horizons with this suite, Feter. While each movement is short, each is precisely written and not nearly as repetitive as some of your other things. Just a really fine concept and wonderful writing. (Yes. A "live" woodwind group would be great, but you nevertheless have shown the beauty of this music with the resources you have available. Let there be more...and more.
Peace.

Very Pretty Feter,... &mdash 08/31/07 - 10:03:10 PM
I just love this kind of music, to me it is baroque sounding. I don't know much about the history of classical styles. I can distinguish between medevil and rennaissance. There is an interesting story behind that. While Europe was in the dark ages, or medevil times, I know from my Spanish major in college that Spain was having its Rennaissance, because the Arabs had come up into Spain, bringing a new way of thought, that triggered the equivalent of what was to become a Rennnaissance in the rest of Europe sometime later. The first European library was built in Spain by the Arabs, it is in Granada, where I happened to be when I went to Spain. However, as the the rest of Europe left the dark times and entered its Rennaissance, Spain plummeted into a dark ages. This is the story as I remember, a real historian would describe it much better than I. Ofcourse the Rennaissance makes one think of Italy, Leanardo Da Vinci, and people who not just could paint with sophisticated techniques, perspective, vanishing point and so forth, but were great scientists, and mathematicans, people who really did it all. Hence the term "A Rennaissance Man", one adept in multiple disciplines. Today we have writers such as Buckminster Fuller, who point out specialization is bad for the advancement of humanity. The technical papers that only specialists can understand in their own field of specialization, results in lack of understanding among the public as a whole, and takes humanity backwards, ultimately destroys the quality of life for all. As he put it, when I throw an apple into a pond, I don't need just the waves of the physicist, but the the department of biology for the apple, and the the department of chemistry for the waves. As he says, we need to see the big picture, and we need technology because he says the ultimate goal of the engineer inventing a technology, is to increase our "degrees of freedom". Ofcourse I should probably add, he says nature far supercedes to date any technology made by humans, and that really "humanity is a macro --->micro universe unfolding eventuation." I read in the paper that we are going through a rennaissance in medicine with the decoding of the human genome. Computer have enabled us to process massive amounts of data relativily quick and this has revealed the language of life, which will ultimately result in cures for everything with a mere injection. Your music makes me think of all of this, it seems to be in the spirit of such thought. Nice Work!!!!

Ian ..I m sor greatfull to you kind comment .
I did studied history and more than one time
so I know exactly what you are talkin about .
and do believe human knoweldge acourding to
the absolute Knoledge on this life is like
a drop of tear in the sea , what I m tryin
to do is revisited that era ,iwht what built
inside me with all the history and want to
prove soemday ..the world share one style
one method one kind of music no matter
the local or individuality of the area was !
While we call them classical or (scholar) musicans
in Baghdad or Granada works on their own works
others around the worlds share the same methods
and express that jut the same . I do heard that
from professors visited the area here in the 80s
but I m reachin many conclusions and results
as well ... !
I dunno if I m write or wrong .. but I look
to give my music through this .. this music
if it talk to me I want it to talk to everyone

I m so glad you enjoyed this Suite Ian realy
meant alot to me my friend ..!

Joy and introspection &mdash 09/02/07 - 04:08:02 AM
Feter this is really lovely work, a kind of fusion of folk and baroque, at turns mournful and rejoicing. I could imagine Mystified or Rebsie doing vocals on this - particularly that middle section.

A new age Bach or Mozart or Palestrina. Add voices and you have a new Thomas Tallis. This is one of your better pieces. Well paced. Pregnant with hope. A man who has been down the road, carrying hardship with grace, ready to embrace further challenges in a place of respite and fulfillment.
