Description

Strictly speaking this was number 4 in the sequence of creation, but I'll designate it number 2 as it has some contrasting sounds intermixed with each other and there are again some different sections that may or may not run into or from each other.

I have favourite sections in this mix and may increase these sections into another mix, at some later stage, but for now it's 'tension' in it's varied musical form.

This one reminds me of a craft flying over different terrains and the music reflects these terrains rather than the people that inhabit those terrains.

Alien dynamism
Lots of nice synth details and unexpected changes with a nice flow. There is definitely the sense of forward movement in this piece, and especially towards the last third you feel like you've taken off ground floating in some virtual space. I'm really quite impressed by your subtle synth magic here. Soothing, entertaining and intriguing. Very nice!

The rich bed of synths and percussion fell together in a fairly straight forward manner.

I didn't aim for the occasional lead phrase but strange things happened during my work with some of the loops. I seemed to be able to alter the whole dynamic of a section by the changing of the drum or bass section or by leaving one of the tracks empty. Some of the effects were very easy to run with.

The spaciness was most probably achieved by both compression and good reverb. I used an 'outside' or 'presence' setting on my Ambience 'verb plugin.

	i like this one a lot, love that change where the beat changes up and the high pitched synth comes in. i can imagine hang gliding in northern california. you need to find someone to sell these mini-soundtracks to. good piece of music. It's funny you should say that about selling my stuff.

All these pieces, where loops are used, are not classed as 'me' music but rather as jigsaw pieces, where I put together a musical picture (of my own choice) with pieces that someone else designed and shaped, for a different musical picture.

I could not seriously consider selling these pieces even though the loops are all royalty free.

My plan is to start selling my own musical offerings over the next year or so. I'm learning the business over the next 12 months by doing a music for the media course, so will hopefully be able to pick up tips etc., to help me with the production and business side of things.

So one day, my own, original stuff, will be out there. I have hundreds of ideas and many pages of music manuscript in my mind waiting to be recorded, that have been there, some at least, since the early 70's.

I'm glad that this piece took your imagination on a trip.

It's funny how listening to music can inspire others, although in this case we must both be inspired by something else.

Everyone's idea of Ambient seems to be different to some degree and thats good, yet there are common threads in that appreciation and maybe inspiration and ideas can be felt/heard by more than one person and tunes come out that are similar.

I can't wait for your collaboration to be uploaded.

This is probably the last of a small series using a certain set of loops I had around. Time will tell.

I'm trying to make my own 'sound' at the moment but my taste is so eclectic that almost everything I do is different, and that, I suppose, is what I am.

Consistently inconsistent.
