Keywords:
Jungles (1)rivers (3)Mountains (7)sky (31)Nirvana (13)Shandrila (1)travel (23)trial (1)light (102)mind. (1)
Description:
I did this as a dance with a story. It's about a struggle with life's problems symbolic of a stony, rocky path and jungle to get to the 'summit' , but also an inward journey through life's problems too until we can reach the Heavenly state of Nirvana or Shangrila. (Hear the deep Buddhist horns throughout) It's a good dance even if you don't buy all that, and was played on midi and sung through the male to female vocal thing in GB

Lyrics:
(whispered chorus)
Over pebbles, stones and rocks that are on our way,
We must climb as a trial 'til that glorious day,
Through the jungles and the rivers and the Mountains high,
We must climbe so high till we reach the sky.
**************
As we go on our way, Oh so High,
Just close your eyes, let your mind be filled with light.

(whispered chorus)
*******
Just close your eyes, let your mind be filled with light,
Love lives right there and it's there for us to share.
Nirvana calls, and the ones who seek, will not fall.
(whisperd chorus) rptd
*******
Ad libbed heavenly voices)
Nirvana...... nirvana .....Shangrila..... nirvana

Just close your eyes, let your mind be filled with light,
Love lives right there and it's there for us to share
Nirvan calls and the ones who seek won't fall
repeat x2

Hi Feter.. &mdash 09/01/07 - 01:03:28 PM
Thanks for calling in again... I like the beat too and yes it is by using the voice transformer. My young neice was going to do the vocal for me so I recorded it so that she would know where to 'come in', because there weren't many clues. Anyway when I transformed it and heard it, I had a lot of tweaking to do with the vocal, but I thought it sounded OK and left it in. I think the very last part is the most succesful part though. I might do an Opera next LOL(joking) cheers M

Nice! &mdash 09/02/07 - 02:08:02 AM
Love the rythm. The whispers in the background are quite interesting, although I can't always understand what they say, unless I read the words. I really enjoyed it. Thank you

Hi Enrique.. &mdash 09/02/07 - 04:06:47 AM
Nice to meet you. I'll take a listen to your music in a moment, but glad you listened to mine and left a note to say you enjoyed. The whispers are really just to keep the feeling of moving 'forward' urgently, that's why I did it so precise with thew beat, but like a kind of Mantra too, cheers M

Nirvana! &mdash 09/02/07 - 10:44:36 AM
That's just north of Hoboken, New Jersey isn't it? Ha ha...

Hey bro, this is a fun romp! Nicely played. Cool use of vocal transformer!

Onward, inward and upward!

Be well!

I presume &mdash 09/02/07 - 02:12:53 PM
That Hoboken is nothing like Nirvana judging from your laugh LOL Glad you enjoyed the trip, but the vocal thing needs a lot of tweaking to get it sounding OK. The problem is with strange squeaks and croaks that you have to eliminate, Cheers Michael, M

This is Different, but very cool &mdash 09/02/07 - 02:47:16 PM
Way to go Maurice, The beat just drags you kicking and screaming into the rest of the piece. The vocal is ethereal to say the least. Could have been up in the mix a little for my taste, but then I've got 2 things going against me, I do country, and about half deaf.

Great piece of work Maurice. Very original.

Thanks Ed &mdash 09/02/07 - 05:41:42 PM
I'm glad you liked this. I tried the vocal in different positions, but this one sounded the best to keep the forward movement going and yet still be heard. I know you do Country and you do it very well as we all now know, but it must be a pain when the ears are going especially for a music lover, cheers and thanks again for calling in, M

lots of cool elements in here.

i like the dance beat and how you change it up at just the right times...

the ending is spacey - just right!

Thanks, SmokeyVW... &mdash 09/04/07 - 06:57:52 PM
The ending going into that one note, was intended to be the final arrival at that one single point where ALL becomes as ONE. Glad you liked the journey, regards M

Happy tune, nice! Good lyrics. Like the whispering and the percussion. You have a Goa track pumpin through my stereo. Perhaps a collab with itiswotitis would be in order since you two have the same taste for music (at least making it). Reading the description, it speaks of life's rocky path. Hmmm ;-)

Great &mdash 09/09/07 - 08:28:11 AM
Beat and Bass Maurice. Some strange things going on here (could be a backing for a horror movie) - I mean that in a good way. Very interesting.
Cheers
Len

Synchronicity &mdash 09/20/07 - 08:05:11 PM
Yo Mo. I just posted a track that contains whispering - are we tapping into a psychic trend? This is wonderful in the true sense of the word. Be lucky chief.

We very well might be on a psychic link. I've never been the same since I came back from this trip LOL. I'm glad you like this, cheers M

arythmic drums &mdash 09/27/07 - 03:50:21 PM
Like the arythmic drums. Driving an clubby without the monotony. Sweet pads and flutes. Calming in a dancey kinda way. Cool.

Thanks again &mdash 09/27/07 - 07:50:46 PM
Philip, glad you liked this one too. I couldn't wait to use those drums LOL and I think they fitted in well in this one, Cheers M

Wow &mdash 11/13/07 - 04:15:06 PM
This is a surprisingly good track. Sorry I was not sure what I was going to hear, but I am pleasantly surprised. And of course laughed my arse off with the fact that the womans voice was you but the computer had changed it, that is brilliant. The drumming I thought really helped this track move along and all the elements really work, esp the womans voice. I would not have guessed it was you and the computer had changed it, it is very good. I feel strange as I could not tell the difference, and would not know if you did not write anything. Well done, bloody good track.

Nice of you ... &mdash 11/25/07 - 03:14:49 PM
to drop this kind comment... you see... you thought you knew me LOL but I was in disguise. Actually it just asked for a female voice and that was the answer, Thanks too for the approval, regards M
