Description:
What happens when five MacJammers and a Swedish bassist come together in the same kitchen? Well, they get through a crate and a half of Guinness to start with. Then they record a live jam of one of APB's songs.
So this is the official MJ UK 2007 song: Where There's A Will (There's A Way) by APB (pictured above) with lyrics rewritten by Epileptic Gibbon, in a live jam all crowded round the same microphone.
This Is Eppy's first ever stint on lead vocals, so please give him a big round of applause.

Great to hear Eppy singing, woohoo! He does more than just push iPod buttons, act as roadie, construct amazing podcasts... And what an extra cast, Petey, Caroline, Alan, Thomas, and nice avocado-shaking there River (hmmm.. mine don't sound like that!) Very silly loverly time it sounds like! But how could it not be, in the house of shiny lights. Yay!

... for the kinds word, Drak. It's a fairly novel experience for me to be singing lead, but everybody else had their hands full with the instrumental parts so I stepped up to the plate. And it was a very silly and very lovely few hours spent in Caroline's house of shiny lights.

Considering the large amount of Guinness (and I can't imagine what else) that's been consumed one way or another, this really is a surprisingly tight performance from you all - nice kazooing (is that a word)? from Caroline as well! What a fun time...

.. have over-produced this one a weee bit.. hahaha. ;o)
Look at that fine cover art .. that right-hand of that nutter is hard to capture at such a slow shutter speed .. hahaha.
Great capture of the fun and touch & cheek "spirit" of the song .. sound performances by all .. except that Tomas "under-pressure" J's playing was subject to the afluence of incohol by this the 4th take .. in his defence he admitted to be paying more attention to watching everyone else play .. and forgot he was supposed to be playing as well...ah well .. lol.
Eppy did a fine job knocking up some new lyrics and sang extremely well and soberly, the improv "na na na" bit is quite something - I'm sorry I couldn't join in more with the singing while playing Rebsie's mandolin...something I'll treasure .. (I nicked it .. hahah kidding!) ..Rebsie did a great job too .. especially keeping me in check .. from spoiling the intro ;o) and I was pleased she took well to my "tired and tested" technique of "bunging a finger on here & there".. solid percussion from River .. and well .. Caroline, what can I say .. well, actually ..if I thought about it .. we could have had the kazoo playing the organ/penny whistle part in the original .. but ah well .. forgot .. didn't I... *doh* lol. Next year, that's 2009 apparently .. we'll have another go!
Had a blast y'all, thanx for doing my song .. and buy Rebsie's CD "Mind the gap" .. take it from me, it's really excellent she's a star too for writing "arse!" on my copy .. and posting this on her account (we thought we'ld get more listens that way .. shhh)
Guinness sponsorship for next MJ UK beckons .. now if I can only buy my guitar a seat on Ryanair (which would be cheaper incidently and get less damaged) .. Mr.Y.Ahama from Japan may be visiting next time ;o)

Thanks for letting us mangle your song Alan, it was very sporting of you. I came out of it better off (apart from now having fingers like asbestos mats) because I learned a new chord ... the magnificent "finger-onny-offy-F". I can also now pick up hot dishes out of the oven without gloves.
I'll invoice you for the mandolin. ;)
If anyone else wants a signed copy of the album with "arse!" written across it just pop over here for a jam and interrupt my count-ins a few times.

..some of us went onwards and upwards to a fabulous theatre soiré 'dahling' .. had a few more jars .. lots of finger food ..and got rounded up at the end with the immortal line: "come on drunks!" .. age alone (hmm ..and perhaps getting locked out) stopped us going clubbing :o)

.. at least a couple of hrs of rehearsing, run throughs, liberating guinness from fridge etc ..I was more meaning the recording/production time itself.
Don't worry Rebsie, feeling should return to about normal soon .. the hazards of the "onny-offy F" things .. or F, Fsus2, F, Fadd9 (as I have since confirmed with jguitar's chord namer) ..well, who would have known .. I still prefer "onny-offy F thingies" myself though :o)
