Description:
Another of my homebrewed songs. Used some midi organs, hagstrøm guitar on the vox recorded as is through a studioprojects B1 mic. Drumloops from GB.
Lyrics:
As I get out of bed to do my things
like I do every morning,
Well I face my self, I’m getting older.
I turn around, rush out the door,
get stuck in the traffic jam once more,
I get bolder, every day.
Take some time to think about, what,
what I’ll do later
When I’m home, when I’m home.
Days of rain is nearly over.
Sunshine is coming my way.
I see other people just like me
Watching the time, we wont get late.
It gets colder, it gets colder.
I have an aquard feeling, I’ve been here before
Played all the games, but I’ll play again
Till it’s over, till it’s over.
I see other people just like me
Watching the time, we wont get late.
It gets colder, it gets colder.
Days of rain is nearly over.
Sunshine is coming my way.

Great Song!! &mdash 08/31/04 - 10:54:24 AM
This piece captures some of the flavor of the best from the sixties, seventies rock. Yet it is new and fresh and original. In particular your vocals and guitar work remind me a little of Hendrix (seriously!) with the blues/rock guitar mix and Dylan (vocal inflection and timing). Not bad company. The organ background is a wonderful touch that compliments your guitar lead. Straight 8's from the unrepentant sixties/seventies guy.

blast from the past &mdash 09/01/04 - 11:02:02 AM
Very nice mix, your "home-brew" is distinctively '60s, very
good flavor. Great combination of sounds mixed well.
Your vocals have a unique quality, very pleasant to listen
to, sort of "whiskey aged" if you know what I mean...with a
hint of husk and smoke. Perfect for this song! [ Reply to This ]
I love that organ &mdash 09/01/04 - 01:21:50 PM
Y'know, I normally don't get jazzed up about music
like this, but there's something about that organ that
hooked me from the get go... almost like you knew it
to as the song intros with it.
Great smokey voice, too... very well done! [ Reply to This ]
So Dylanesque! &mdash 09/01/04 - 02:33:22 PM
Makes me long for the days when rock music used to
mean something... Great job! [ Reply to This ]
Sunshine in my ears... &mdash 09/01/04 - 03:37:30 PM
Yea, I was thinking Dylan too-- in your voice. It's very
good. Mmmm I like this a lot. Creative production. Please
post your lyrics! Not that they're hard to hear, but I like to
read them as poetry. Santana in the guitar. Very well
played. All of the parts leave room for the others. [ Reply to This ]
Earthy feel and sound &mdash 09/01/04 - 04:01:08 PM
Very present vocals. Reminiscent of late sixties
recordings. Nice song... nice job!

Man, your sound really takes me back. Love the
organ and guitar. Makes me wanna break out some
vinyl. Nice use of vocal effects without over doing it
like I usually do. Thanks for posting this. 8-7-8-7 [ Reply to This ]
Like slipping into.. &mdash 09/02/04 - 08:34:06 PM
.. your favourite old pair of Levis after a long hard day.
You can fool yourself with all the rinky-dink rack gear in
the world, but there ain't no sound like a set of Vox valves
bubblin' away on 'boil'. Absolutely AWESOME guitar sound.
The Farfisa organ is a great touch. I'd have been so
tempted to stick a B3 in there with Leslie up the wazoo.
But I would have been so wrong.
Voice is just the right side of baked and I just love a blues
with a hopeful ending.
Mucho respect, thoddi. [ Reply to This ]
Very, very good, but... &mdash 09/03/04 - 02:26:47 AM
Do I detect a bit of distortion in the mix? As far as
balance, a couple things slightly poke out a bit too far.
Overall, very immediate and accessible. A good story line.
An easy listen. Downloaded for many future spins. [ Reply to This ]
Very, very good, but... &mdash 09/03/04 - 03:01:39 AM
Thanks for your comments. The panning I agree with. I noticed it when playing it on my mac at work, with a pair of JBL speakers. This is something I hope Apple will look into in upgrades. Its a bit tricky to get it just right with the panning tool. I also think the levels is worth a look into, aspecially when combining midi-instruments with real ones.
But comparing the product (GB) with more expensive ones you get alot for the money:-)

Must have been fun to record this &mdash 09/05/04 - 09:27:34 PM
Great track in every way. The sounds, their parts, the
vocal... you have the total package here. Great job.
Had I been there for the mix, I would have offered one
suggestion: Remove the highly effected one-word vocals. I
find them unnecessary, and I think they take away from
the "authenticity" of the track (this goes along with
Wireman's comment that the Farfisa sound is more
appropriate than a B-3 sound would have been). This is
picky - it's a killer vocal track regardless.
All eights. This is a cool piece of music, Mr. Thoddi [ Reply to This ]
oh well &mdash 09/09/04 - 09:24:10 AM
