Description:
This is a staple in the TEAM LANDRETH repetoire. I had my pal Julene Gravett help me with the drum arrangement, ( as in she programmed it )and she really kicked my butt on this one. Thanks, Julie, it sounds great.
Joe plays slide guitar, and wouldn't stop playing, he was having so much fun. ( he thinks he's Sonny Landreth some times.. )
I played the acoustic and high strung guitar, mandolin, and fretless bass. This was a real learning experience, and I love LOGIC PRO even more now!
Lyrics:
we look to the sky
the moon is only half there
someone asks
what do you call a moon like that
when you only half care
I know that one
It's a caffeine moon
thats the one
half way between here and nowhere
it doesn't cast enough light
to be of any use
to any one
any where
that old devil
a caffeine moon
we all stand a little bit closer
trying to remain
within reach of each other
there's no comfort for the pain
that part it's still broken
we nod our heads so knowingly
embracing our companionship
cause nobody wants to be
lonely
we gather
touching hands and faces
never looking in each others eyes
hurting
damaged
fighting hopelessness
with this thin disguise
standing under
a caffeine moon
if we could take all the broken promises
and sad memories
and throw them in the ocean
no mean feat
from these windy
wild
prairies
dreaming under
a caffeine moon
we all stand a little bit closer
trying to remain
within reach of each other
there's no comfort for the pain
that part it's still broken
we nod our heads so knowingly
embracing our companionship
cause nobody wants to be
lonely

What can I say?! &mdash 09/10/07 - 12:11:37 AM
Great song, outstanding vocal (as usual), excellent playing and a stellar production. Easy to see why Joel wanted to keep playing! The drum programming is a standout too. Simply class!
Was that appreciative enough Wal, just send the $$$$ to the usual address? ;)
Cheers,

landreths in the whole world.....kool song......sung so lazily and laidback.....almost poetry reading like.....slide gives it a sad mood.....the diffrent tempo changes work great.....interesting song....!!! [ Reply to This ]
I have been under that moon before.. &mdash 09/10/07 - 09:10:17 AM
Really enjoyed this song. Relaxing, heartfelt, and emotional. My favorite kinda stuff. It has that bluesy, and a shoulda, coulda, woulda, feel to it. I like your voice, soothing, unique and easy to listen to and enjoy. Thanks for sharing. Great tune! [ Reply to This ]
worth the wait &mdash 09/10/07 - 12:29:15 PM
asolutley worth it... Hey Wal... I think almost as higly of Logic, as I do you... you have such wonderful material, and your delivery is infectious.. this is going to join all of your other work in my ipod... I'm with Neil... where do I send the $$... as always I have to give Joey a nod... for guitar perfection... but that fretless is wonderfully rendered too... not an easy instrument...
