Description:
Another addition to my Nocturnes. I may end at ten (diez); I don't know yet. The Steinway in Ivory pianos has a very sweet melodious voice. I am not sure how much volume to use. I hope is not overdone, but at any rate, I am sure you will like it.
The picture was taken in Suzhou, China, The Venice of the East.

Wow, two in one day! &mdash 09/10/07 - 01:54:15 PM
Two masterpieces in one day; one from you Enrique and one from Paul F. Page. Both fit marvelously with a glass of cream sherry in my easy chair beside a fireplace.

God bless,

Rick

Salon music... &mdash 09/10/07 - 09:24:44 PM
Enrique...
A true salon number. You play this style with great understanding. This made for a very pleasant listen. You seem to fairly effortlessly matriculate through your variations and each succeeding one is as interesting as the previous one. I wonder if you are using the German Steinway. Have you heard the 10' Italian Grand? It's pretty cool (but another $150!!!)
Great that you are continuing this long series of pieces. Each is a little gem.
Peace.
Paul

Well Hello there! &mdash 09/14/07 - 10:47:32 PM
Ivory is great. The Italian piano however may have to wait.(:<). So you bought more piano software? which one do you like most? I am glad you liked my piece.

Your Nocturnes go up to eleven! &mdash 09/11/07 - 12:56:08 PM
I am always impressed by your flowing compositions and talented playing... this one has your usual "Enrique surprises" in it (like the super-long trill before diving into the last quarter, etc) and really satisfying little melodies sprinkled throughout. Some parts made me think "that little melody would be perfect in a little music box." Thank you for the uplifting music today! And nice pictures of China, glad you had a good safe trip! My step-son just recently moved to China to start teaching English to elementary school children, what an adventure!
ttfn,
Drakonis

Chopin &mdash 09/13/07 - 08:23:57 PM
Sounds an awful lot like Chopin, without being slavish. Beautifully done. I'll bet you did this all 'live' with no post-performance editing. At least, that's what it sounds like.

Yes, I agree with Tobin. The slight tempo nuances are quite appealing and really make the piece.

Ivory has quite a good Steinway. Thanks for sharing.

Hi John &mdash 09/14/07 - 11:10:26 PM
I usually play "on the run", but not always the whole piece. If I like it, I keep it, otherwise try a different variation. I just wish I had more musical training and piano skills. My head is full of ideas but cant always seem to make them into music. Oh well! may be in my next life. By the way, I do have several of your pieces in my Ipod. Your Jazz skills are great. Thank you.
