Verse 1
I've got the ring, you left on the bed
You took some pictures, but I've kept the best
You left a memory, but I must confess.
I've got a heartache, you took the rest
Chorus
Sentimental me, independent you
How can I survive without loving you
Sentimental me, independent you
How do I tell my heart that we're through
Verse 2
You told your friends, it's over we're through
Now you don't need me, to keep loving you
But I kept your memory, to help see me through.
I'll spend a lifetime, in love with you
Chorus
Picking Verse

This was a very, "Sentimental" song for me. (pun intended)
I had a hard time doing the harmony parts on this one so I just kept at it until I was to tired to do it any more. Then, when I listened to it the next day, it sent chills up my spine in certain places in the song where the harmony was dead on. I decided to just leave it alone and go with what I had.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for the listen and the comments.

You've got a lot of power in the lower register; sounds rich and strong. This sounds like it might've been written for Kyle Lehning.
Nice job. [ Reply to This ]

Nice Melody at a nice slow pace. Well writen and lovingly executed, sounds like a classic to me. Good one! [ Reply to This ]

It's was a work of love. Ya know, like "been there, done that" to many time to count.
I had a lot of trouble getting the harmony parts right, and never was satisfied with them. I finally gave up and accepted them as they are now.
Thanks again Matthew for taking time to listen and comment on this song.
