Description:
SlimGirlFat wrote this and asked for "some guitars". Several late night iChat sessions later (thanks Slimmie) this is what transpired.

She has only herself to blame. ;)

Hardware:
Vintage Les Paul, MusicMan Stingray bass, wire, Marlboro Lights and sleeplessness.

Software:
Well, GarageBand, obviously. Like.. duh!

I would've preferred something more gradual into
the rockin' guitar solo at the end. Kinda' slapped me
in the face, but I like it just the same! Great guitar
work and it's really cool to hear more "clean" Slmmie
vocals with less reverb and echo.

Great work, you two!

Slimmie actually wants the rock guitar in from the start.

I think it could be too much, leaving the song with nowhere to go.

I'm throwing it open to the "community".

The Completion Effect &mdash 09/02/04 - 01:25:12 AM
You've done a fine job with just the right finishing
touches. Slimmie's song was missing something... and,
although the vocals were always great, this is now
complete.

Thanks &mdash 09/02/04 - 04:25:38 AM
I tried to keep Slimmie's vocals up-front and centre. She's got a great voice
and is a pleasure to work with, too.

song was good before now its off the hook. The guitar
and bass now make a complete backing band to
compliment SGF's excellent vocals.

I take it "off the hook" is a good thing. ;)

Thankyou Wireman &mdash 09/02/04 - 06:14:25 AM
the guitar on this is soo good.
The production and editing you have done also makes
the track a far more interesting interpretation than my
first track.

Heh
Fantastic job Wireman
Slimmie

Right back at ya, Slimmie. The credits belong to you.

Looking forward to more collaborations.

great to hear... &mdash 09/02/04 - 08:34:29 AM
...a good song made BETTER!

The guitar is a perfect addition to this tune. VERY well
done! Nice and clean, expertly performed.

Good drum accompaniment. It did sound a bit "sizzly"
with lots of highs towards the end, through my
headphones anyway.

I liked the guitar solo at the end.

As for YOU, Slimmie -- I really, really liked the way you
recorded your voice on this one. As already mentioned by
packo, it does indeed sound "cleaner" with less effects. It
rings through clear as a bell and has a bit more depth and
"punch" than your earlier version. This one is a bit more
upbeat.

BRAVO to you both! 8's across the board.

Excellent Pop! &mdash 09/02/04 - 09:03:28 AM
Truly an excellant pop song. Is that one of the
Garageband guitar samples i hear, it fits perfectly. The
vocals have real nice harmonics.

Sweet! No, I mean the old definition . . . &mdash 09/02/04 - 12:58:03 PM
Great Collaboration. I don't know if anybody here
remembers Lulu, but the tone of Slimmie's voice and the
sentiment that comes though reminds me of a modern
day "To Sir With Love." Gosh, I'd love to hear Slimmie
cover that one . . .

Everything works for me!

I don't know what some things are like... &mdash 09/02/04 - 10:42:02 PM
...but I know what listening to this song is like. It's real,
real, nice.

The guitar sounds and parts add a great character to
this song. The tone that sounds like it's running through a
leslie is gorgeous. Nice use of overtones. I like the fact
that the guitar tracks are of their own personality. I think
that the lead at the end might be an exception to this, and
maybe went for the more standard and predictable,
although very well executed. Excellent, tasty guitar work
overall, no doubt of that.

And, as always, Slimmie is Slimme. You have your own
sound - this is something we all strive for. Your
confidence seems to be raising constantly. I would have
liked you to take more chances in the rideout, but overall,
this is just another wonderful vocal performance by our
Slimmie, who keeps improving as we get to watch and
listen.

Wonderful job, you two. You ought to be proud.

Contrasting vocal effects &mdash 09/03/04 - 01:36:16 AM
Maybe a little overdone with the reverbed chorus -- it
stands out too much from the lead solo sections. Maybe
I'm wrong. Nice song. Honest, intimate singing.
Exceptional guitar work. Yep.

Nice tune, wow- like that echo vocal &mdash 01/04/05 - 09:50:11 AM
Nice tune! Love the guitar work like your use of that
reverb electric guitar for sure. Almost like "Here comes
the rain again by the Eurethmics. Not sure if I spelled it
correctly.

Again, LOVE your use of the harmonics. Just nice.

I love that popular feel you are striving to get and I think
you deserve a lot of high ratings for that.

Thanks, I am glad I clicked on Daphna's favorites and
found your tune!
