I dig your flying pig! &mdash 09/12/07 - 04:54:45 PM
I really like this Ben. from your choice of voices down to the drums, very tasteful and powerful! The only advice I have is that I think the drums need to be brought forward a smidgen and that your a wee hot on your output. That's merely my opinion. I would love to see you build on this for it is an awesome bed! I really enjoyed this.

Lovely &mdash 09/12/07 - 05:29:15 PM
composition, playing and production - would not be out of place as a film score. [ Reply to This ]
still thinking "western" :) &mdash 09/12/07 - 09:09:54 PM
because of the guitar. that was a great idea.
cut out the drums in the first half (not the second). Native American flute could be good. or a guitar melody. or a dulcimer.
that said... *downloads*. *plugs in*. *repeats*. [ Reply to This ]

That sounds like a good idea. Might play with that.

I can see this going far, Ben. Your music, for me, evokes awesome images. Soundrack-ish, yes. Gonna repost this after you've worked on it some more? I like what's happening here... [ Reply to This ]

Nice snippet, and I agree this has a lot of potential. Not only is it a bit "hot" though, it also lacks more dynamic contrast... I would suggest dropping the volume and some instruments to make a softer passage with the guitar, then give a few more bars for the orchestral parts to come in, and have them come in a bit at a time, to help build on the enthusiasm, this seems to call for crescendos. Also, an occasional hit of a really low note (double bass or trombone pedal-notes) here and there would add some bottom-end drive. Cool!

I could see great landscapes passing me by as I drove down that long road.
Really enjoyed this.
