Description:
A fancy tune I wrote with Josh Mullin (Conner Kates) for his demo album. I hear he plans to send it to Konami with hopes that they'll hire him. You may recognize him as the vocal talent from my other song Victoria; that was our first official collaboration.
Lyrics:
Come On
vocal: joshua mullin
Don't bat your cat's eyes at me
Like you think I'm being coy
Let me tell you now, my darling
It's so much more than that
But don't turn your pretty eyes away
Like you think I'll drink you in
Let me tell you now, my darling,
(mon cheri)
It's so much more than that
*rhythmic breathing*
You light the spark, I'll fuel the fire
You plant the seed, I'll cut the flower
C'est amour !
+come on – come on
LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT I MEAN
come on – come on
CLOSE THE DOOR, PUT OUT THE LIGHT
come on – come on
LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT I MEAN
Every story has a climax ~ be mine
Fountains of white rapids rush
Deep south, the forest- it pines
A vesper coos for your touch
6 to 9 in no time
The light years felt by your brusque
The window urges this tide
The rocks are washed, the tinge is made
My ocean satisfied
You strand the thread, I get sewn in
Softest caress without a din
C'est amour!
+REPEAT CHORUS
The copse douses the summer glow
I suppose the dark is what love's for
But in vain I wisp your hair
For all in war is you so fair
+REPEAT CHORUS
Whisper to me again and again
Prove your stem
Bring me to thrall – ravish me
And let me tell you now, my darling
There's so much more than that

what an outlay! &mdash 09/19/07 - 12:12:50 PM
This song is quite the project! It comes on clear and strong. The vocals are spectacular -- very well placed spatially. I like the instrumentation but those cap gun shots or tin roof bangings (whatever they are) get on my nerves. Could you bring up the bottom a little? I suppose I could bump up the bass spectrum on my end. [ Reply to This ]
i guess &mdash 09/19/07 - 07:19:24 PM
Hey Rick,
thanks for checking out my tune. I guess I could bring up the bottom a little bit, but I made a stylistic choice and and went for an 80's pop sound. The "tin roof" hits are my snare drum, show some love for the 80's...maybe.
Thanks for stopping by :)

oh, I've got enough material alright, but I"m not consistent with my production so yeah...I think I'm still learning the ropes. I don't want to release anything before I'm ready. [ Reply to This ]

A very unique sound with great vocals....I think the beat is off alittle in places but did not stop me from giving 4 10's.....Bravo! Norman [ Reply to This ]

Aero, Very tasty track. Connors vocals are spectacular as usual. I remember Victoria as one of the first songs I actually listened to when I first came to MJ oh so many moons ago, and I thought "sh*t" there are some GOOD musicians here. My one constructive criticism would be that the hand claps are a bit loud and pervasive through out the track, even though I know that element is what gives it its 80's kinda vibe, I found them a little distracting, but that's just me. Cool work. [ Reply to This ]

well, I guess since you're the second person to make the argument about the snares, I'll have to consider it. Thanks for stopping by racer, I'm so happy you came to check out my tune.

Okay. &mdash 09/26/07 - 04:29:50 PM
Nice wee intro,then... well it's return to the Eighties as has been divulged throughout the comments. Lyrically it's fairly banal and the hook is non-hooky - in my somewhat cynical and jaded opinion. Great vocals wasted on a insipid melody. Liked the ending. As far as being constructive... I haven't a clue.Ahem... be cool. [ Reply to This ]
