intriguing...
Somewhat sparse, and when the harmonies come in, they were unusual... and although not a bad thing, it definitely took me a bit to mentally determine the chords and direction... it seemed to wander a bit. So yes, this needs a lead over the top... but I really like the rich bass, and the synthy washes. Good choices for voices... but my poor little brain cannot figure out what kind of melody would fit over this. Hmm... hope that's somewhat useful feedback! I think I liked the prior soundbed of yours a little more, but that's just my taste (you asked which I liked better.)
ttfn,
Drakonis

lead
thanks for the feedback. i actually wrote this one from the (unrecorded) lead, then filled everything else in around it. the lead, in my mind, is pretty similar to the (fake) guitar solo. the chorus (i guess, or rather the parts that correspond to the arpeggio at the start), is more intense, and the quiet bit after the solo...i imagined as being spoken word or with lotsa vocal harmonies (couldn't decide).

but i'm not very good on recording keys, so i didn't include my version of the lead melody.

I can see no wrong
Tight mix and well done on the melody. It reminds me of a love song (a longing for love kinda song).

nice love song
You just need a sweet voice talking or singing on top and maybe the guitar solo may be a cool idea... There are many skilled guitar players at macjams... You'll have no problem finding one... Best of luck

I
dig the dissonant piano raising this piece to a new level, strangely enough. Uncluttered, I lyke itt da weigh itt iz.

Subtle
This is really grooving, in a low key kind of way. I liked the synths and gentle melodies, as well as the science fiction atmosphere.

Moving earth and sky
Gradual progression toward full throttle. Self-confident rotary action. Big sky meets resonating igneous mantle. Worthy of lyrical treatment. A song about steady passion. Flower seed thrusting through asphalt, seeking the sun.
