Description:
This tunes's been sitting on the backburner for quite some time, but for some reason I never quite took the time to finish it till now.

I love this song so much, but man, it was really difficult to come up with something I could add to an already awesome tune. I can only hope I've done it some form of justice.

Thanks so much to Karmatoburn and Cydniko for laying the groundwork for such a beautiful piece.

- Ed

Hardware:
The usual stuff. Macbook Pro 15", Tascam US-122 usb audio interface, Shure SM-57 mic, Selmer Mark VI alto sax...

Sweet playing. I like how the Cydniko groove builds slowly, and then we're casually introduced to the main tune... with some keys and sax. All the playing is really sweet and groovy, and it really fits with this Tuesday morning's casual work day. Excellent collab, guys.

You GOT DOWN on the opening. I would have worked the hell out of those percussionsand made a track out of it alone. Dont care to much for this style of Kenny G jazz. Take it without offense. my feelings. You constructed the whole track well.

I'm not either, frankly ... &mdash 09/26/07 - 09:41:18 AM
... I don't really listen to Kenny G, but I will admit that in addition to the harder fusion/blues/rock stuff, there's some smooth jazz that I like.

Thanks for taking the time to listen to it. :)

I've haven't been checkin in as of late, but I am sooo glad I checked in today. I almost whooped out loud when I saw this. Soundin fine. Nice mix, and the horn sounds super phat. And that vocal thang you do again. Man, I dig that.

I'm immediately drawn in by the seductive sax tones. Those tasty perc/drums... That guy knows how to keep a groove living all the way.

And then there is the keys... They're floating along as if a cool breeze came and softly made them sway.

This works as a whole piece, no doubt.

And mr. saxophone, you have a new fan:)

What a fine chunk of collaborative music to accidentally come across on Macjams! I have listened to it four times now ... and with each listening it seems to grow richer in its textured sounds ... yet it always seems to end too soon.

My only feedback would be that the tippy-tap beginning is rather hesitent ... that the title should be changed from "Duel" to "Duet" ... and, yes, it should be longer ....

Or maybe it shouldn't be longer. Too much of a good thing probably isn't good for you : >
