Description:
This one was written by a friend of mine named Tom Roberts who I was in a band with for a short while back in the 80's. As I look back it's amazing to see how much influence he and the others in that band had over my music, absolutley brilliant song writers,

Another fine tune.. &mdash 09/27/07 - 11:47:15 PM
that sounds fresh and yet very much has that 60's folk music feel and flavor.Nice balance of sound and your vocal work fits this song like a glove.Love the guitar pickin',the fine vocals, the harmonies and Tom's fine writting.Whomever is responsible for all that went into this song,it is well done on all fronts.Enjoyed it very much!

Blessings,

thanks guys! &mdash 09/29/07 - 07:13:51 PM
the guitar sound is with 2 mics, a SM57 and An Audix OM-1, probably pointed at the bridge and 12th fret. I don't think I had to do much EQ-ing, but it's been awhile.

I love acoustic music, it is definately the place I go where I feel at home musically. This was an analog recording so the temptation is to do it over again. But I will resist at least for now. Thank you my friend.

i feel ya... &mdash 10/11/07 - 08:59:56 PM
acoustic has always been my main-stay. ALL of my stuff is written on acoustic. even the heavy, dropped tuned stuff. now that i have some good mic choices, more of my stuff will have acoustic in it. the latest Montgomery California song 'Pharaoh' had it as the song's basis. i built from the takamine up, and the song I am working on now is the same.
nothing beats the warmth of a good hollow body. nothin!
keep writin, i'll keep listen, bro!

I really like this tune as well, a guy named Tom Roberts wrote it, I was in a band called Indian Train with him back in the early eighties. He and another guy- John Cooper are just amasing song writers.

something about acoustic music that always feels more grounded to me, more humble. Jam sessions in the hills are some of my fondest memories. I'm glad you like thee tune.
