isn't really my thing so I wasn't sure when I saw that tag on this one. However, the description is far more accurate and Mysti's floating vocals really lift this from that category. The usual excellent guitar playing is combimed with a nice 'laid back' production which sounds absolutely right on this. Congratulations on a year of Day For Night - you've recorded some great songs and I'm looking forward to your second year.

Yes, I would say that this is 'bluesy' rather than straight blues...I wasn't sure what category to put it in really as its not really alt rock, folk or blues. I guess alt country/americana....but then I am English hehe so that doesn't work either.
Thanks for listening and ongoing support of our DFN collab!

Nice &mdash 10/01/07 - 06:21:32 PM
easy feeling on this and I love the combination of voices on this; the nice mellow female from Mysty' and that lovely rich deep voice from Steve combined with the nice beat and bluesy guitars, Nice easy listening anytime, M

Cheers for listening. We have had a lot of fun doing this collab for the past year, one of the rewarding things about internet music is this potential for long distance collaboration.
Thanks

One of these days Winston and Lucy might co-opt you into the Leonids and that will be your name

Bluesy...

I am impressed with the space you have created in this mix steve

You and Mysti are both in tip top vocal form

I too .. &mdash 10/03/07 - 05:00:17 AM
.. like the space in the mix, the guitar tone you
got in here is an extremely nice strat one, very accomplished performances too all round.

Overall sound/style combo sounded a little "Texas", if I was to think of something 'closish'... but with more ambient singing and of course more male vocals.

Happy jammiversary to DFN ! Long may you continue to
work together.

easy flowing &mdash 10/07/07 - 04:20:24 PM
I like the cool mood in here. The guitar has that little blues vibe... very good playing... relaxed and flowing with the mood in the song.

Your voices goes good together.
The repetitive chord progression supports the theme of the song...the road goes on forever...

The cloud mobile that is Steve amd Mysti just floats above the landscape and sends down occasional bolts of bluesy guitar and heavenly vocals. Especially like the little background vocal touches by Mysti. I very much got a Dire Straits with better vocals vibe out of this. The blues comes in all different forms. As Muddy Waters once said when asked if a white person could play the blues, "Anybody that feels bad can play the blues".
