Description:
Better mix -- from Steve Smith's guitar/bass/drums soundbed

Lyrics:
DayDreamin'
words by Stephen Kemp

How could I ever get to heaven, said the blind man
When there isn't any light for me?
How can I make it to the top of a mountain
How can I follow what I just don't see?
--
Well, I can help you find the light, said the deaf man
You just let me do the reckoning
And that will get us to the top of the mountain
So you can take me where the angels sing.

How could I ever get to heaven, said the blind man
When there isn't any light for me?
How can I make it to the top of a mountain
How can I follow what I just don't see?

Not every answer has a question, wrote the poet
Sometimes just a little love will do
And -- even if you thought you'd never know it,
Sometimes an answer walks right up to you.

-guitar solo-

Not every answer has a question, wrote the poet
Sometimes just a little love will do
And -- even -- if you thought you'd never know it,
Some times the answer walks right up to you.

How could I ever get to heaven, said the blind man
When there isn't any light for me?
How can I make it to the top of the mountain
How can I follow what I just don't see?

Well, I can help you find the light, said the deaf man, if
You just let me do the reckoning
And that will get us to the top of the mountain
So you can take me where the angels sing.
So you can take me where the angels sing.

Now I know why they call you Star Girl! You were right, the EQ in the old mix was garbling my voice, and the flute was not getting good effects, either!

Good catch, Star Girl!

I sure hope you think this is an improvement!

Very nice &mdash 10/02/07 - 05:11:24 AM
Very good lyrics and the voice suited the song really well. The flute really helps to carry the song, very nice touch. The sound bed of bass/drum keep the flow going and have their own powerful touch esp when the bass and drum hit together. I like the guitar washes as well, it gives it an almost etheral touch. Well done its a very good track. Shame you cannot download.

Since it IS an audition and it was created by Steve Smith - well, I feel he ought to grant me that permission, and I have not heard back from him, yet.... so sorry....

Loved the voice, flute and guitar on this one.

It has a Neil Young feel to it; gritty, simple melody and meaningful.

That guitar grinding away in the background and that gruff voice of yours, goes together so well.

Full of character.

Now we're talking! You guys sound like you're in the same song now. So much better. The flute shines now, too.

Wow. What a guitarist, what great writing, great everything!
