Description:
Leon and I are back at it again! This is a very special song for me because I wrote this song for my mother and gave it to her for her birthday in August. She is the most wonderful woman I have ever known and has always been there for me through life's ups and downs. My mother has always been a fan of Leon's vocal talent and who better than him to bring his gift to my music. I hope everyone enjoys this little song. Thanks for all your support.
Lyrics:
Music & Lyrics: Brandon
Vocals: Leon
Oh Audrey, my darling beauty
You tend to every single wound and tear drop.
For each little sorrow comes tomorrow
'cause you bring comfort and you bring me tender care
In the advent of tears, you can calm all my fears
There’s no where to cry when you’re here at my side
Now things may come and go, but your love is all I know
Oh Audrey, my so sweet darling
The more I look the more I see an angel (an angel)
With each precious moment I’m overwhelmed (overwhelmed)
by all your gifts of warmth and by your gift to bring wisdom
In the advent of tears, you can calm all my fears
There’s no where to cry when you’re here at my side
For worse or for wear you are always right there
I’ll keep standing tall, cuz you won’t let me fall
Now things may come and go, but your love is all I know
There’s no one else like you
There’s no one just like you
There’s no one else like you
There’s no one just like you
In the advent of tears, you can calm all my fears
There’s no where to cry when you’re here at my side
For worse or for wear you are always right there
I’ll keep standing tall, cuz you won’t let me fall
Now things may come and go, but your love is all I know

I gotta say, from the lovely opening chords, this sounded georgeous, but when the harmonies kicked in ... well, this actually had me quite weepy, thinking about my own (departed) mother.
A simple, honest song, with lovely lyrics, and a really heartfelt vocal from Leon.
This is simply radio quality , great pop music, wonderfully produced and shot like an arrow from your hearts to ours.
The little stop at the end... genius.
Enrique must be green with envy!

This is a great sounding tune.
I envy that you are able to express your feelings you have for your Mom.
I have been trying to write a song for my Mother for a long time and it just wont come to me.
I have written a tune for my Dad (To Me Pop). But the Mom tune wont come.
You have a great talent.
The way you have produced this tune with the strings and emotional vocal by Leon combined to convey your Loving thoughts. Nice job.
Great songwritting and performances.

For all our Mothers... &mdash 10/06/07 - 08:38:33 PM
About three days before my vacation in August, Brandon emailed me to "rush" a birthday song for his Mom. I just finished vocal arrangements for "Dreaming" with him and I was ready to take a break. But mention the word "mother" to me and I melt like butter. I was honored and more than willing to make this lovely song come into fruition, with my voice no less. I wrapped up and emailed the song to him just hours before my flight. I felt in my heart every line of this song and the musical arrangement was wonderful, particularly the parts where the orchestral strings come in. I am thinking of singing this song to my own Mom and re-title it "Kathy" on her next birthday. Thanks, Brandon, for making me a part of this song. [ Reply to This ]
Happy (Belated) Birthday, Audrey! &mdash 10/07/07 - 02:47:51 AM
Lovely sentiment... and lovely work from you, Brandon. And Leon's vocal talents keep becoming more and more obvious. Another terrific collaboration.
My only suggestion would be to shave some of the high frequencies off the guitar, especially noticeable during the intro. It's a bit harsh.
That aside, a very nice arrangement and mix. Both of your Mothers should be proud. ;)

You guys are back at it indeed! This is sooooo good. It reminds me a little of some of the Scottish group RUNRIG's work (and that's a MAJOR compliment)!
Excellent in every way! So from the heart and so noble. I too got a tad weepy...
Bravo!

production, wow! &mdash 10/09/07 - 12:41:04 PM
the production on this is so clean it's practically flawless. with the straight-forward, heatfelt lyrics it just flows so naturally. and it must have taken an incredible amount of work to make it sound that way!

mothers &mdash 10/09/07 - 06:46:29 PM
my mother and I became estranged the last year of her life. there was nothing I could do. When she was dying I was on my way to say goodbye. My sister called, already at her side and I told her to whisper in her ear; I will miss you. She died seconds after that. She was holding on for that....
In the years that passed I came to realize that mothers are part of Mother Divine. The really good mothers have a purer form of Mother Divine; sort of like Mother Mary. I also realized what father in Heaven could mean in the vernacular.
You do a good job of weaving lyrics with emotional transitions.
I have a musical friend Deva Premal. She sings Indian chants with her unique talents. Ususally I do not like Indian chants but her emotion builds and builds through the repetitions and musically I think that unique. aad Guray is my favorite followed by homage to Krishna. available on itunes. give it a listen! I feel when she sings that Mother Divine is very evident. [ Reply to This ]

Bran's fabulous soundbed already signifies a hit in the making ... and well what can I say about Leon that I haven't said time and time again ... the man's vocal abilities and vision in creating those multiple harmonies are nothing short of amazing. Dynamic Duo ! Keep em coming guys! [ Reply to This ]
