Description:
This is the very first Classical
piece I wrote on my life ,dated
back in 1987 . sure I lost the Midi
but I did a rendition of the tune
in 2003 on three guitars !
~Originaly I composed this piece
after I watched a report about the
sinking ship Andrea Doria ~
so its just history to me ..and sure
memories !!

Lovely playing. There's such an interesting blend of cultures in this ... a kind of bluesy structure with delicate middle-eastern flourishes woven through it. Sounds beautiful.

...something very haunting and poignant about this. It sounds sweet and gentle, but there's something very subtle and sad in the background. Sort of like standing on a beach at sunrise, with the waves of the ocean washing over your feet - a beautiful scene, but littering the sand are remnants of a shipwreck.
This is a very moving piece of music, all the more powerful for its simplicity and delicacy. [ Reply to This ]

This is very pretty, I love the bouncy 2/4-time thrumming, and the sweet soft melody over the top. For some reason, this has a hint of old Greek Folk music to me... although to be really Greek, you would continue playing this same tune faster and faster, while drinking Ouzo (blech.)
But I like the slow gentle pacing, and soft guitar work here. Good piece, Feter! Thank you for returning to it! I am glad it did not sink and get forever lost!

Greek ? well Draki , I never thought of that but
as you see I was thinkin of an Italian sinkin ship
and as my very first attempt to write anything "calssical"
down as scores .thats why it gives al this mixed up
tastes .at the other hand this is very nice as everyone
digest this song diffrent ,and I like it how it works

of ballads I would hear coming from our radio when my father would come home at night from work and listen to his favorite Greek station. Bringing him - at least in his mind - back to his home land.
It's soulful music that's both mellow and wise. I love it.

...and thoughtful...Those are words that come to mind immediately. There's a certain serenity to this piece and you play it with wonderful restraint. Sometimes mining those old tune we've written years ago ends up with new understanding and new appreciation and a new interpretation that just "clicks." That seems to be the case here...
(P.S. I just re-listened to your Organ Suite. It's...WOW! Blows me away. You move from the sublime (Andrea Doria) to the powerful (the organ suite) with quite a deft hand. )
