Description
This version of Still Waiting features Michael2's excellent vocals (lead and background), plus Birdman Wayne's stunning guitar work (16 measure solo and guitar line during the final chorus--listen carefully!).

I found it very enjoyable working with both of these gentlemen, and I hope you all are pleased the results.

Cheerz,

it's up. i had a blast working on this with you guys, and i think it sounds really good (the track was awesome before I came anywhere near it, so don't think I'm getting all egeotistical). after hearing a bunch of different mixes that you did, i like this the best. great job, looking forward to the next one.

Slow Dancin' In The 80s
...she had Big Hair and it smelt slightly of peaches as we danced close together at the college pub. I'd had just enough beer to ask her to dance, and she'd said yes...

This is a beautiful song, well done with just the right touches to polish it off with a crystal-clean finish. Excellent vocals! Rich, lush sound, and a sweet guitar drifting among the keyboards.

Lovin' this one. Thanks for the ride.

fun new direction...
What a great collab group... EZ's fun song here makes a great bed, and Michael's vox seem to fit really nicely here. Yeman's guitar work, as always, is sweet as well.

I do have some suggestions for the mix, though. The mix seems very high-midrange/treble-heavy, at least in my headphones. The slowly flanging (upward-washing) noisy synth especially, seems to be very loud in the mix... other synths and even the voice and guitar seem to have a "cutting edge" quality that might need some equalization tweaking. There may also be some over-compression going on that gives an ear-compressing thumping that is distracting (especially around 2/3-3/4 in). Also, the vox has one kind of room-reverb, and the synth music bed has less, so they don't sound like they're "together" in the mix. Hope those are useful observations.

Overall, though, I like the music, vox, and guitar parts together, this is a very enjoyable version of this music. The mixing ideas (if they really are there and not just my ears) could probably be fixed with the existing recordings.

ttfn,
Drakonis

right on the money
Listening to this song I'm going dow nthe list of comments to see if someone has already made the observations that I was going to make. No surprise to see Drak making them.

First things first: very nice song, and all parts are performed well.

But here are my problems: on monitors that actually go to low frequencies, your bass is too loud, and two: that loud bass makes your compressor go haywire. There is a very pronounced pumping effect that shouldn't be there.

Cool stuff though.

the playin ,its very nice to see a colab as
always ..KUDOS !!

Thanks !
Well .. i tried that, anyway the electric is not really fit with my hands, so i recorded it so fast using my Classical Guitar and then added the echo to make it as much as i can with the background music !!

Thanks so much teacher, i'm so glad you liked this piece. EZamor and Mikey did a great job here !

Fine 80's ballad

.. I too get the feeling Bowie joined a Human League/Icehouse combo. Great singing/melody, (perhaps a
little out on the odd harmony "somehow" after the first solo and the odd "you", if I was to nitpick), solid song structure and arrangement - like the overall synth voice choices, very back in the day.

On the mix, it's well balanced overall .. just
the sweepy/panned/filtered stuff is perhaps a little loud, relative to the vocal..

Birdman's guitar adds that heartfelt 'slow dance' finishing touch- the end solo is almost harpish in
sound after effects .. sweet, could come up a fraction
in the mix.

Fine collab guys and congrats on your first Birdman.

Kudos to y'all.

thanks
for the feedback. i thought the same thing about that harmony on the word "somehow" and i think i was going to erase it but forgot.

Good tune
... the vocals are excellent and Yeman's solo fits in really well. I thought the mix was fine except there does seem to be some limiting affecting the backing when the vocals get louder - it has a pumping effect which I found a little odd. That aside, I really like the song.

Excellent collb...
Great vibes/atmospherics in this tune. That lead vocal by Michael2 is killer. And to my friend Birdman-- very choice guitar solo... really top drawer stuff. Everything fits so well. Congrats guys.

From the bottom of the well, rising
Pretty good outlay of emotion...both in instrumentation and vocalessence. Pretty cool. Bass might be a bit too loud for commercial contouring.
Alannah said 771 days ago (October 12th, 2007)
Definitely ....
... Bowie .... way to go M2 !! I agree with some of the earlier comments . and the only way I could put into words what I am hearing is that all the instruments and vocals sound like they are set at the "same" volume level .. which makes the mix come out slightly crowded ... I think the song and vox are fabulous .. and with some mixing tweaks ... it could be GOLD!

Interesting
It has one of those ballads from a few years ago. The vibe here is nice and the music carries the song well.

Beautiful soundbed. Very nicely arranged EZ!

Michael's poignant vocals really work here! Harmonies are especially lovely.

And what a fabulous surprize hearing the Birdman doing the guitar soloing!

This collab is excellent. I hope you guys will consider working together again.

Yes!
Very cool song. I enjoyed the delivery a lot. The singing is very nice and the guitar work is good. My only suggestion is to ease on the compression of vocals (they pumped in my speakers). Still a coooool song.
