Description

I've never been good at writing love songs. This is my second attempt. The first one is also on here. It's called "Everything to Me." Please tell me what you think. I still want to have my friend who is an incredible pianist play the piano part and put some live drums on it.

	Great ! You have a very great ability to sing, your vocal is very nice and warm, the guitar so clear, and the music is very nice and fits with piano and drums. Lovely piece .. really enjoyed it but i wish that the music and the vocal were stereo more than just the left !

	Thanks. I'm not sure what's causing my music to be pretty much mono. I don't think I've changed any settings or anything. I set it to stereo. I've got to sit down and figure out the problem one day. Check out my latest song called If I Could

Very nice lyric and songwriting... and you have a good solid singing voice, hitting those notes and sounding expressive, cool! Good guitar work too.

The Birdman above mentions the music off to the left... I listened, and it is not a problem of being "mono". I think the problem is that you have put the singing and the guitar both slightly off to the left side, so the first 1/3 of the song, which is just guitar & voice, feels unbalanced, all over to the left. Later, when the drums (centered) and piano (to the right) come in, it feels more balanced. There are many ways to fix this in the mix. I would suggest the easy way for now... just create a COPY of your guitar track, and on that second copy, pan it to the other side to balance it (if the first one is to the left at around -10L, then pan the second one to 10R.) Leave the voice at about -2L, and put the piano at 2R. Leave the drums where they are. Try that, and listen to it in headphones to see if it feels balanced now.

Anyway, nice work here! Did you play the piano too, or is that a loop?

great song. your voice is so nice and the guitar sounds so crisp and clear. i think your piano part is a good part, maybe you can just adjust it in GB a little under the settings, or try a different piano part (i like the steinway setting in jampack 4 - listen to my song "all my friends" to get an idea of what that one sounds like). you did an awesome job on this.

Beautifully done.
Excellent writting,playing and choice of sounds.I always listen closest to the vocal track because that's what makes or breaks a song for me.Great emotion goin' on here,this is a maker all the way.I hope fellow MJer's take the opportunity to hear this fine piece of songwritting.Does sound a bit left leaning in the mix,but none the less outstanding.Glad I stopped by for a listen.Instant fav!

Production notes
Bowens: The song is real nice. Tender and well paced. You have a great voice.

However, I thought something was wrong with my headphones. I thought I had a bad right channel. Most of the song is left of center. There are times in the song when piano comes into the right channel. I'd like to hear your voice perfectly centered which would give it more prominence in the mix. Then distribute the instrumentation left and right. There is a way to spread out even a single guitar track. Logic Express has a plug-in filter called Spreader. Keep bass in the middle. With a better mix, this song is top shelf.

	Mix problem I think I fixed the mix problem last night. Of course that version is not on here. I don't know if something is wrong with my mic or what, but I duplicated the vocals and panned the new track way to the right to balance it out. Check out my latest song called If I Could

	Really lovely song. Excellent musicianship and great vocals. The production is not as important when the song/performance is this good.
