Description:
a ruff mix ...version one of two...with different vocalists...this is the Tom Wounded version.......fun working with tom......this was a beast trying to mix for ipods and ear plugs and also speaker monitors......
Z293: lead guitar on th uptempo section
Footy: drums
Mcboy: rhythm guitars and bass

Totally diggin the merge of styles here. Tom's voice is true grit soul. And the up tempo section was like a storm blowin through. Kudo's on Z's lightning effects. Also standing ovation to Footy's drums (on MJ? must search!). Excellent collab [ Reply to This ]

Clean and simple groove never fails. This has a little Zeppelin touch, with that characteristic "Bonham-like" kick drum in front of the mix. Brilliant drumming! But also the feel of the whole tune with its super guitars and steady bass gives me a Zeppelin feeling:)
The vocals is for real. Near and confident.

Toms vocals are always a pleasure to hear. And they fit right in here.
Maybe a little Jimi, but also Phil Lynott. It finally dawned on me.
The whole song has a in the pocket groove.

Geez! I wish my "rough" mixes sounded this good! Great raw sound. Nice collab. Everyone delivers here. You guys should consider doing more collabs. This is too good for it to be a one-off deal!

Way to go McBoy and Company. Good and solid all the way through, great mix and Z's guitar solo makes me want to cry when I listen to my own stuff. Tom's vocal is outstanding on this, and McBoy held it all together and kept everyone right where they ought to be.

My favorite part is when the tune comes back down after the up beat soloing. Groovin.
A great rock groove, well played rhythm guitar, always makes for a cooking tune.
Kind of made me think of Joe Walsh the James Gang stuff.The tone of the guitar maybe.
I see where thor hears Zep at times. I think he is right in saying that the bass drum funks it up real nice.
Also the funk in the rhythm guitar adds to the Zep sound.
The ooohs sounded Rolling Stones-ish, too much for me. Right from 'Sympathy for the devil'
I'm not a real fan of slick 80's rock soloing like you have here, but it is very well executed and jammin.
This is very different than what I would have imagined when i saw mcboy had a new tune, but i like when an artist can go through different genres and show different sides.

I can now understand a little better what kind of musician Mcboy is, not only does he excel at guitar but his production skills go way beyond average...to hear this song stripped down was an unusual treat, one marvels at all the nuances Mcboy brings to the table, seems like he pays attention to every second. a real honor.
Z as solo backup is a singer's dream come true, one can listen for days at his virtuosity, thanks Z! thanks for the honor!

difference a real drummer makes (especially a great one like this). This collab is the best I've heard on here. The playing/production is awesome. What a delight and treat it is to hear Tom's vocals right up front and centre too where they belong. Excellent.

...is a cool choice on this. Got a nice bite out of it, McBoy.
Solos were hot (middle section kicks), drums nice and live and working well with the bass, and vox/lyrics just right with the music.
That is to say: it rocks...
