effort! This must have taken some time. It shows. Very ecletic and edgy in places. Choice selection of sounds. The bells almost have a mallet quality to them. Did you play them on a xylophone of sorts? the glass tinged synth pads at the end very cool.

Yeah -- about 2 months. The instrument producing the melody is a dulicitone. It utilizes tuning forks instead of strings for pitch / sound -- I love the harmonics and overtones it produces.

...impressed by how this moves through very different states of being so smoothly, with the different emotional landscapes setting the scene for what follows. At times playful, and serious, and sad... perhaps contemplative? The ending put me in mind of a hospital room at night, the machines quiely winding down as death takes hold.

Wonderful, rich and evocative piece of music.

Some interesting rhythms/syncopation going on there between the dulcimer and the drum.Like the way it builds up with the vocal sounds and the synth sounds.By the end it sounds almost like overtones of gamelan.Then into that really eerie soundscape - quite prophetic,well done!

I went to performing arts university - I'd come and see it but I'm in the uk and have never flown in my life!

...so much of a story going on here. I have never hear anything quite like this. Inventive rhythms, inventive concept. That it will be performed as a dance is awesome: that's exactly where I hear it. Many applause for such an intriguing and complex piece. And "break a leg" on the public debut.

.. to be honest I found this tricky to imagine different things from
the sounds after birth until the slowed more obvious hospital-ish, crackly neon light kinda setting at the
end .. I felt alot was served rhythmic meat for the
dancers to be visualising more other key events for the course of this persons life.

Production is really awesome and I also enjoyed that interesting dulcitone .. the harmonic ringing and how
that overlaps is truly a sweet sound. It had a playful sound (the melody) that at first thought conveyed more childhood .. up to first
steps etc ..then I found it hard to shake that image .. it would IMO have been cool to morf it into
different sounds .. perhaps more school bell like then industrial for 'work' (with the odd traffic noise ... and perhaps more church bell like for marriage (say).. I would have also have considered a
long drawn out 'haaaaaa' expiring breath at the end ..
as the 'ha' sounds seemed to only convey hustle and bustle filled existence to me... kinda 'out of breath'.

All the sounds are excellent and weave well together.

I wouldn't have a clue how to even start to write something for dancers ... so pay no heed... just how I hear it... that's the only feedback I know :o)

Enjoyed it overall - the effort put in does show for
sure... you may just be being too subtle for 'in yer face' apb :o)

You are one of the few who really gave me something seriously to consider -- the morphing of the melody into wedding bells, etc !! I love it -- be sure to look for that in the update of this piece that will be performed in June. The piece is being renamed to "Her Mortal Coil". I absolutely loved your imput -- it was well thought and well stated -- and I do seriously appreciate the kudos -- (( It's always the best compliment from an execution / production standpoint when another musician gives praise -- I do have a tendency to sweat over every detail . . .
