VERSE # 1

When troubled times come on me -
and I feel like givin' in.
To the hell and fire around me -
to the world and all its sin
To the liars and the cheaters -
to the temptations within
I think about you darlin' -
and I am whole again

CHORUS
Your my first breath in the mornin' -
my last sigh late at night.
Your the power behind my power -
through the struggles and the fight
your the reason I keep living -
your the dream that is so right
Your my angel and my lover -
your the one I call my wife.

BRIDGE
You don't need to worry -
and you don't need to fret
About what's happened in the past or -
hasn't happened yet
There's never gonna be a day -
through all eternity
That I won't love you just as much -
as I know you love me

Final CHORUS
Your my first breath in the mornin',
my last sigh late at night
Your the power behind my power -
through the struggles and the fight
Your the reason I keep living -
your the dream that is so right.
Your my angel and my lover -
your the one I call my wife.

Wonderful... &mdash 10/15/07 - 09:59:05 PM
As I listened to the opening strains I thought to myself: "This is gonna be nice..." BUT, then came the chorus and I got all weepy! (And the lead solo is very touching also...)

A wonderful tribute to true and lasting love. Thanks for sharing this.

Be well friend!

It only took me 11 years to finally let someone else hear this out in the public, but I'm really glad that I put it up.

Thanks for being a friend Mike

Randy Travis &mdash 10/15/07 - 10:32:33 PM
should cover this, and make you a millionaire!
That lead guitarthreatens to take this into rock-land, but you tie it all back down so gracefully at the end. Nice song.

I could really usse Randy Travis doing this &mdash 10/15/07 - 10:44:40 PM
I guess instead is shootin' at a varmint like old Jeb Clampet, I'll just get Randy to hand over the millions.

This is a really early recording of the song which I brought into GB so I could tweak it. The guitar on the original was pretty lame, and it's still in there in the background. I decided it needed something with some real dynamics to it in the lead part to offset and compliment the flow of the rest of the song. I think it came out pretty could when you consider what it sounded like before I reworked it.

Anyway Jim, thanks for coming by and taking a listen. I'm really clad you liked it.

Be well man

But actually this song was written for my wife some years before she died, so she got the joy out of it. She was a really special woman.

Thank you for finding this and deciding to have a listen. I'm really glad you liked it and were kind enough to take the time to tell me so. I shall return the kindness you can be sure.

Peace and be well.

She was indeed a very special woman. It will be 11 years tonight at 2am in the morning of the 17th. Yes I remember and will never forget, but as Sharon used to say "life is for the living", and it does go on.

This is a special song for me and your kind words make it even more so Bob. I thank you for them and for listening.

Peace and be well

Thank you Maurice &mdash 10/16/07 - 07:38:48 PM
As you can see from the description this was written for my wife. It was written a few years before we even knew she was sick, and I wanted her to know how I really felt about her. And she did know, but this was just my way of making it personal and real.

Because it was a special song I took my time and made it as good as I could at that time.

This was actually the original recording I did in 92. I brought it into GB and used it's capabilities to enhance what was already mixed down in the master, and added the guitar part to make it just a little more special.

Thank you again my friend for you kind words and for dropping in for a visit. It's always a pleasure to see that it's you when you come knocking.

Peace to you

Ed

... choked up. This dear. Strong lead vocal to sing those incredible lyrics of love. Man... the simple words... a powerful message, all wrapped up in the sound of a stellar country music performance.

Kudos to you Ed... and God bless you... and your wife.

For coming to the party and enjoying the atmosphere. This has to be one of the best, if not the best song I ever written. (opinions may vary here) But it is the most special, at least to me.

I'm really glad you got to hear this one Jack, and that you took the time to send me some kind words on it.

Keep the peace in your heart man.

The first time I saw your name mentioned here on MacJams was when McBoy sent me a heads up on the song., "Princess"

http://www.macjams.com/song/35955

on which you sang the lead vocal. I was very impressed by the work you did on the song with the lyrics, and the vocal.

That said, it means a lot to me that you would make the comment you made about the singing I did on this one. I'm really happy you dropped in for a listen and enjoyed my song. and were kind enough to take the time to let me know.

Thanks again Tom, it is appreciated.

Thanks Mark &mdash 10/24/07 - 03:24:24 PM
I'm really glad you like this song, it has a very special meaning to me as I'm sure you could guess.

This is the original recording I made in, I think the year was 92 or 93, in my home studio . I brought it into GB a few weeks ago and stroked it a little with some of the fine effects that are there in GB. Then I added a new guitar part over the original tracks to fill it out a little better and make it more interesting in the break. I think it sounds much better than the original, and has a much fuller sound now.

Thank you again for the comments and especially for the one about my singing voice. It's really nice to hear that kind of comment. I'm glad you stopped by to check out my latest, and enjoyed what you found.

Be well Mark

You know sometime you never know who you going to touch with the words you write down in a song. I'm so sorry to here about your young man and his illness. I can relate that's for sure. I hope this song helps you in some small way.

I'd say I look forward to you next post, and I do, but also I don't for reasons I'm sure you understand.

Be well my friend and give my best to your wife and here son, Where there's life there's always hope.
