You got there and you've been busy and funky lately. Henri's stylings are great here and you can't go wrong by adding Tadashi. Nice stretched out jam. [ Reply to This ]

I don't have time to listen to much these days, to say nothing of collaborate! This pretty super, but that's stating the obvious! [ Reply to This ]

WELL ALRIGHT! &mdash 10/19/07 - 09:15:06 AM
ENTER, and fast.
The funky.
Now to me, 'funky' can be 'funky', or right on.
The opening riffs suggest that this thing is gonna be very right on.
You guys compement each other very nicey. The solos are real strong and creative. The funk is right on!(did say that?)
Great interplay all the way through.
The distorted guitar solo is an interesting choice that fits real nice.
Man this is steely dan meets the brecker brothers with the likes of Chic Corea on piano,
And miles watching, holding his horn waiting his turn.
I dig this.
Nice inspired playing.
Thanks for sharing.

Another great collab? Too much! &mdash 10/20/07 - 01:55:40 PM
Why can't the rest of the world jam like this? Peace through music. Really excellent playing all around - just great. Hats off to the bass/drums keeping this one moving. I like the way the bass alternates between a string and synth sound with the pedal. Very cool. [ Reply to This ]
:) &mdash 10/20/07 - 04:45:55 PM
I recently saw Steely Dan in Sydney - and this wouldn't have been out of place in the show. 2 of my favourite guitarists at MJ - beautiful playing guys - and Henri, who I admit to having not listened to much lately, but who shows here how cool keys can sound.
Love it!

all that jazz &mdash 10/20/07 - 06:17:55 PM
Although this follows a straight jazz recipe with the obligatory soloing rounds (which can be a bit predictable), it has the little nerve that is vital for keeping it interesting. Many creative turns from each of the soloists in here. You all have a pro touch no doubt. A steady groove to keep it all in place.
There is a nerve in this... it is the one that stays on top of the educated finesse. It's very vital where music is made in a collaboration with technique... [ Reply to This ]

yeah &mdash 10/22/07 - 07:45:43 AM
What can I say? Tremendous talent here. This is my first exposure to Henri - great soundbed and some interesting playing in the solo. I'm not much of a keyboard fan, but I can tell there is major ability there. McBoy's early guitar work in this song reminds me of Hendrix "Cry of Love" era work - kinda like in the song Belly Button Window. Understated in a cool, flowing kind of way.
And tad - well, that's just nasty. Amazing how he took the song off balance.. the atonalities he threw in there could be a criminal offense, but he pulls it off without breaking a sweat.
NICE work guys.
