Description:
This is a remix/revision of Holistik's rap song"Will I Be? (feat. Kryptik)"(public domain). It's my first project in quite a while and the sequel to my first collab with Holistik, "Return Of The Prodigal Son." This song is part of my continuing experimentation with hip-hop music, melding rap with my vocal melodies into a harmonious form.
Blitz and Holistik did some awesome rapping on this song. I re-wrote much of the melodies and revamped the musical arrangement. I know this may have limited appeal to Macjammers, but I consider trying new materials and genres as part of my musical adventure and artistic growth.
This song also has a great message. It is about human frailty and our distorted depth of reality...

This is one of my new favorite songs. (not just on Macjams) Leon, your delivery is as good as it could be, I love the mood your voice creates. This is such a multi-dimensional song. The lyrics are powerful, the rapping is great, the production is flawless and the combination of sounds is truely professional. a very inspirational song for me straight tens!!!

I actually have your songs in my ipod and have been listening to them long before I made this song. Funny that you were the first to write a comment, 'cause I love your rapping and was actually thinking of asking you to sing rap in one of my songs in the future as a collab.

Hi, KTB! Thanks for taking time to listen and comment on this song. It's a new genre for me, and it was a bit daunting to take on a new style. But just like I did with "Primordial, Eternal," I found it satisfying to try something different and see how it shapes up into a beautiful form that I would have not expected.

Fabulous lyrics delivered with power and conviction. Angelic vocal harmonies. The mix is pro as per usual and the rapped lines really do work here.
You have never yet disappointed me Leon. I still maintain you are the best male vocalist at MJ.

Normally I never listen to hip-hop, and most of the time I just genuinly hate it - but I'm always willing to give the more melodic kinds of hip-hop a chance. This is one of those cases.
I really like the soundbed - really beautiful. Although I agree with Tobin about changing up the piano line.
Excellent singing, Leon, as usual and excellent flow by Holistik and Blitz.

As a mainstream vocalist, I can't agree with you more about rap.. but that was more a product of my sheltered musical experience. I thought trying something new would make me change my views, and it did to a certain extent. Just like most people, I probably won't cross over completely into tuneless rap, but again that is just a matter of taste.

.. this really, really good. On many levels ..
very dramatic use of rap .. the switching to 'fast'
speed rap is something I really like .. it's the
sound .. I seldom can keep up with what is said though..
but I like that aspect.
Really full and rich sound. Tiny nit was a little strong plosives on some rapped parts .. but very minor and could be easily fixed I'm sure.
Hope it gets the recognition it deserves- radio

Production and nice vocals on this . The rap flow is awesome and spreads a positive message . The piano loop used is one of the first loops I ever used in a song like 3 years ago and brings back old memories of a song I produced so its kinda nostalgic for me and following hiphop form . I don't mean to be rude with the caps locks and all but both songs that Leon has remixed of carson's (holistik) are amongst my top favs from my brethren in rhymes. The originals have also helped me through some really though times in my life and have given me hope. So to hear Leon's remixes%u2026 it revamps that whole feeling in a new light. Also makes us rappers from the city of penticton look like slackers, haha, considering the original of this song was done in 05` In all serious tho, if you have not already done so my fellow Mac Jammers, I urge you to tune into the originals on Holistik's Mac Jams page and see the transformations that Leon has developed into his own creations

This is the first I have ever heard of your work... your voice really embodies all that is worth praying for - absolutely beautiful. I'm so happy you chose to collab with who you did because it creates a really nice blend - Holistik, fabulous lyrical content as always. You're always putting no less than 120 to any project you're working on. just wondering, whats your recording setup like? You've got great reverb on your vocals, not too much not too little. is that added or does that come from the room? Any tips for a rookie on recording vocals besides just singing into a microphone (thats about as much as I know)?

As regards the vocals, I usually play around the vocal pre-sets, or I adjust the echo and reverb until I get a nice mix with the music. I try not to put too much of these elements so as not to totally rob the vocals of its rawness.
Your vocals in your songs are very natural without effects, but you can try experimenting with these little adjustments until you get the ambience effects that you wants (like say a concert hall, or a small room, etc.)
