I just wrote an extensive comment about Micheal Wark's "Anvil" about individuals trying to keep debates about civilization and humanity, politics and struggle going without sliding into the vicious wars we're living through right now. Excellent tune, but... man, I really needed to hear this tune, Benny - it reenforces what I feel and believe about life and how we live. We're all individuals, and we're all trying our best to make it to the next moment without getting skinned by life. But...
Funny that which we put so much value on really doesn't mean so much in the end, and what we learn, feel and experience turns out to be real. Life can be brutal, but we create far more of this life we live in than we realize. Every word, every action... it all belongs to us alone, and with that influence our world, and onward and outward. I know, it's nothing new, but it's real and it's true. This piece has such a lust for life that it brought tears to my eyes - it's not sweetly optimistic nor blindly happy, but exhuberent and alive and confident borne of the scars of living that life.
You guys put together one hell of a piece of work. Bravo!!!

Your comment on this jam means a lot to me. I can honestly say that the music imediately caught me the first time I heard it. I was actually nervous when frenchy asked me to work on it because without the lyrics this song has a strong vibe to it. I didn't wish to take away from it, but at the same time I had to let what I felt out.

Rik it means a great deal to me as well .....There is something so special about the awesome people on this website ....its made me create and think and grow ....You have no idea how much I realize the meaning in your comment and understand what you are saying ....Life is 100% what you make of it .....how you look at situations and how you react to each moment ......but ive even gone farther in my practices and meditations that what is "I" and where does it come from.. the thing called "I" is pure ego .....and im a rapper hehehe doesnt go so well with Zen practices but i go beyond Pure Zen ideas and take what I like from all mind sets .....and in the end my friend the meaning of life is only to create more of you... there isnt much more to it than making sure there is more humans or dogs or cats or fill in the blank ........Pretty bleak view but Im a realist with a overactive imagination ...: ) hehehe Its all good ! I'm not by any means any authority
on this genre (or any for that matter) .. but I really
enjoy and admire alot of your work (and Spit's) as
well as a handful of other hip-hop rap MJers too.
Being a pretty new listener to this genre, while I
get a kick out of some 'speed of delivery changes' -
I can see that really wouldn't be appropriate to the
vibe of this one.
The laid back groove works really well with that
meandering jazzy sax and backing. Fine mix ...
I thought you perhaps could 'double up' at some
points ie. you both rap together the "this is my
life .." return after your section... would be
interesting to hear the voices together.

Hey so glad you had a listen ...you know doin the colab over the internet is an amazing ...AMAZAING thing we can do now I live in Phoenix Az and I think Spit lives in South Carolina ....but it really makes it hard on the production end of things ....I would have done a few things different myself if we were in the same room together but its so hard to communicate to each other how we want the song to go down ...your head on when you say we should have mixed up the hook vocals cause it sounds more like Im rappin on spits song than a colab ...but honestly I dont mind followin such a talented rapper as Spitlogic ......he defiantly has a gift ....plus I asked him to take it over vocally and he did a great job layin the spit down ....hey thanx alot for the deep comment and makin us step up our game ....I think I might redo some vocals and put it back up .....peace
