Description

This mix is just a bit of fun.

I started off by thinking about doing a mix with fireworks as the central theme but without the loudness bit with 'space'.

This is as far as I'm going to go with the mix.

It's wierd but hey! Nobody said that I wasn't.

The fireworks were made from lightning noises, mangled to make them non-inflammable and so safe for children.

The choir were trying to impersonate Manhattan Tranfer singing 'Birdland'.

The mixture to be taken with some not-very-serious pills.

Hi Doug...
The bass is just a soft synth. I haven't used Garageband for quite some time. I don't enjoy working with it and so have discarded it, with no plans to return for this lifetime.

I do try to vary the sound of the bass, as this is the new lead sound, from one point of view. Expect anything from dinosaurs to moles taking residence in my mixes, with a few aliens and ghosts thrown in for variety, without the aid of either sawdust or safety net.

The 'space' sound was Voxengo's free SPAN effect. I use it lots on these type of mixes, which actually means at the moment I use it all the time, but with slightly different settings.

Hi Kenta....
I am so happy that you could enter within the mix. This is part of my aim, to allow listeners to 'go where the music takes them'. The art of film music is, to me, transporting the viewers to the place in the film where the music is playing, without them being aware of the change.

Hi Michael....
I have spent hours and hours learning the nuances of this soft synth and am just beginning to get my head around some of it's more technical aspects. (When I get a waltz 'out of the box' I will rest easy).

You have introduced me to one or two acts in the past few months and the Residents is yet another name that I haven't heard of but will be investigating as soon as I can.

I too left Castaneda when I heard about him in the 70's but for some reason a couple of weeks ago I rediscovered his work and here we are talking about it. Take care.
