I freakin' love your guitar solos...
This song has some great moments, but I'm feeling a little too much of the low end in the mix. Might be the crappy speakers I have hooked up to my computer. I'll give another listen through my recording setup, which should help me to hear the mix better.
Your vox seem to be getting much better, the only thing I'd say in this song is that they are strong enough that you don't need the overpowering low growls... they take away a bit from your melody which is really quite good.

Very Dave Mustaine! Great snarls in the vocals. Cool tune and awesome chops on the solo!
Needs a little more love in the mixing. I think TMI is right about the low freqs. Slap a high pass filter on the bass to roll it off at about 70hZ and then hit it really hard with compression. Knocking off the sub harmonics will make it much more present in the mix, allowing you to drop the volume while maintaining the energy. Let the kick drum own the very bottom end of the mix.
I'd also suggest shelving the guitars a little higher to create more separation and clarity while filling out the full freq range. Keep the meat of the guitars between 900hZ and 12k and the whole track will become much more powerful (as it deserves!). [ Reply to This ]
