without doubt a master mixer. This sounds so crisp and clean. The beats are very well picked - the drums sound very natural. You provide a very interesting sound bed without taking away at all from the central rap. Very sensitively done, extremely unusual and a classy listen. Downloaded. Thanks.

If I could come close to living up to your words, I'd be happy! You're always so kind, Len. Thank you! It does make me happy that someone w/ your talent has appreciation for at least what I'm attempting to do musically.

:) Mr Macca! &mdash 11/02/07 - 05:07:36 PM
I'm not a rap fan at the best of times, but the combination of Mr Spit's original and your little box of loopy things has resulted in a very cool piece.
Peace,

Yeah, yeah... &mdash 11/04/07 - 12:52:49 PM
I know you won't ever rap-a-tune, but I'm not gonna stop trying - I'm by no means a fan of rap, but I do end up working in all genres in my other world and it's definitely broadened my perspective. It helps that I think that Mitchell is as highly poetic as someone like yourself, Neil, just a different delivery of which, I had fun hangin w/ on this. - Always a pleasure to see your name! Thanks! Thank you, thank you, thank you &mdash 11/02/07 - 06:18:54 PM
Did I mention thank you? I think it is a huge compliment when someone remixes your work (though the original was a remix so this is a remix of a remix?). I feel as thoug the lyrics I write are important, however I always feel a little uneasy when it seems to get such high praise. The work you've done for it is flattering and I'm glad I was able to inspire you to do such work.

Well... I think that you know by know what I'm feeling about you, Mister Talent... There's one effect that your music had on me that no other has to date - in creating this piece, it's the one time where I was inspired to sit down and virtually "perform" it from start to finish. It was cool because from that, on this little ditty I think there comes across a sense of spontaneity and that was a needed effect, I believe. There was a true feeling of trying to keep up w/ you as you performed and it was an energy that I wanted to project. Hope that comes across for others because I lost significant sleep in as a result of it - LOL - Anyways, thanks again, Sir. Macca [ Reply to This ]
Nice! &mdash 11/02/07 - 09:15:09 PM
The mix is absolutely killer! The sound bed has so much space and cool elements. I also like the fact that I can hear what Spitlogic's sayin- clean, crisp and clear. Great job on this, Dion! [ Reply to This ]

What a treat it is to hear your music! This has a cinematic quality, and is a real mixed bag, stylistically, which is something I really like about it. One thing you do really well here is that you don't overload us with sound... it's a very light touch, making it easy to hear the words, and all the little nuances in the music. You are one seriously talented dude. [ Reply to This ]
Wow! &mdash 11/05/07 - 12:41:38 PM
Man! You really know how to make my day, Mr. Ross! You do know how to make a person feel like they've accomplished something! The fact that these words are coming from you says alot! And thanks for letting me get away w/ the fade-out on this one - LOL - just in case you think that your words aren't taken to heart... Thank you, Sir! Dion [ Reply to This ]

It has something very dark and religious. Wow, how many instruments?? Sheez:-). The serenity, female vocals stabs and quieteness really feels like a glove for Spits' hand. Almost a classical piece. I think mr Logic is and should be proud. Wicked drumming. Enjoyed, a lot. [ Reply to This ]

Hello there &mdash 11/07/07 - 09:35:37 AM
I'm suprised that other's didn't mention how "other dimentional" this piece tends to be - Maybe that's because people here naturally hang out in those places - But thanks for saying something, Mr, Jim. And thanks for stopping by. Much appreciated! Dion [ Reply to This ]

It's clever how you've mixed together sweetly melodic and harmonious parts with some edgy and abrupt sounds, and made them work together. The excellent vocal slides smoothly over the top. Nice work! [ Reply to This ]

Those horn stabs... &mdash 11/04/07 - 08:46:03 PM
...are becoming a Macaudion trademark...
Along with that twanging jaw harp sound... (not in this one)...I've been listening to a bunch of your "back catalog" the past few days...
I won't pretend to be rap fan, but I've been saying for a long time that I'd give a listen to something that was trying to be uplifting...This'll fill the bill...and actually, for all that it's rap, has a little of the spirit of the blues... Like, something hurts, and I'm trying to rise above it... So Spitlogic gets a nod for that...
Dion, folks are right who are hearing how brilliantly simple-but-right your track is here...

Brass action... &mdash 11/07/07 - 10:21:38 AM
I simply love the sound of brass. And if I didn't use it on a song, you should feel the restraint as a result of it, Mister EJH! I'm wondering if you'd like a little brass in your mix - it's what I have in mind for you but a bit on the side of blues. Thanks for stopping. You already know that I'm holding my breath until I hear from you. I sure do hope that you start to feel better! Thinking about you! Dion [ Reply to This ]

Hey Keith, thanks for stopping in to share your words here. Yep, it did end up being a bit on the psychedelic side of things. I couldn't stop myself, but I'm pleased that you noticed. There wasn't much choice since I don't know if I could truly pull off a hip hop thingy - I'll keep trying though. Thanks for popping in! Dion [ Reply to This ]

Hey Bud! Thanks for mentioning the drum voice thing. Actually, I wish I had focused a bit more on that type of interplay throughout the tune. You always think of these things afterwards. Thanks for saying somethin about it though. As simple as it ended up sounding, it's what took the most focused effort.
Always nice to see your name! Thanks! Dion [ Reply to This ]

Who dat be... I would love to play w/ you guys but I'm always under a deadline to finish a piece of music, it seems - I come here to get away from deadlines, but I do wish that I could make the lost record's dL - I did give it some thought and I do have a piece in mind that I might work on while knowing that I wouldn't make the dL. I'll see how things pan out. Thanks for the invitation, whoever you are - Macca [ Reply to This ]
I'm a believer! &mdash 11/06/07 - 11:35:25 AM
I think you can do anything my friend. This is amazing. It's almost like rap meets the beat poets with a little bit of Tower of Power thrown in. I've said it before, but I love the way you use brass as another percussion instrument at times. The overall moody feel really compliments the words. You've really outdone yourself with this one. brass &mdash 11/23/07 - 08:17:07 PM
The brass is especially catchy on this track, not to mention the spoken word. Especially where the brass follows a Bach-chorale style pattern. Maybe those are loops? The words are thoughtful and interesting. (Those aren't really 'rap' adjectives, are they? Oh well.)
