Description:
The first time I heard Like Worshipped Chicago Dogs I had written half the first verse. By the third time I wrote 3. I condensed it to two and sent my vocal to him. I was amazed at the transformation he did to the music and how well my vocals sounded. He is definately a mastering genius.
Just for a refernce there are 2 others who have done something with this amazing piece one is Mystified's "Ugly Dog prophecies" (http://www.macjams.com/song/35672) and Echoroom's "...and I will have my revenge on Chicago" (http://www.macjams.com/song/35613). Sorry I don't know how to do the link thingy, but here it is for you listening pleasure. Thank you in advance for your participation.

Lyrics:
I stand in a hall of mirrors
The right path in the wrong direction
No protection from the self that I try to hide
Or these corny cliques that I try to ride
Is it pride that compels me to refrain from asking
to be rescued from myself in the heat of passion
The subtraction of mind from the man is no man at all
Yeah I planned to ball
Champagne kisses looking good and standing tall
While some are jealous and demand I fall
Green zealots making moves to one day be in command of all
Im a door in a land of walls
Othello in a land of Pauls
Some would argue I'm no man at all
I cant rely on my fans at all
And refuse to play this game like a baby on my hands to crawl
If it were up to the industry they'd ban us all
No reliance on the self they'd destroy all faith
And dangle falsehood in front of our face and hope we take the bait
false prophets in a land of credit cards and real estate
I search for the realest state within
Drinking from an angel's tear
None of us are strangers here
Most of us have anger where they've tried to instill fear
I cant afford to deviate
It is up to me to mediate
What's here and what's beyond the plate
This might not be food for thought
Depending on your school of thought
Or if you fought the lies they taught
Caught in the crossroads
We're all old
the soul lived before there was an earth to spin
Our death is just a birth again
I have a message for the planet, so I hope its worth the pen
And paper that I used to write it
If Im on a tangent it because sometimes I get excited
Life is a party, to tell the truth you're all invited
Bring your own hope and some for us that don't have it
Bring your own hope and some for us that don't have it...

Thats the internal battle every man has got to face
Shake that devil off and let your true self take its place
Mankind
Man blind
Man find one's self in a world that has seemed to have lost its damn mind
It's not hard to understand mine
But sometimes the prose looses me
I choose to be
The few of us that would refuse to be
Devil's advocate
I'd rather stand and battle it
Outnumbered and surrounded I am still willing to challenge it
I have a lineage that I have got to try an keep in tact
My legacay in melody, turntalbes, and speaking rap
every cell and particle
Defines the ontological
Defies negative molecules
I wish the way I felt could truely become apart of you
The best that I can do is make this music from the heart for you

This track is supreme. Totally brilliant. It is well produced and so well rapped. You should be snapped up by now by a record label. Unbelieveable. Such a good track.

the best part about all this &mdash 11/03/07 - 04:12:46 PM
is that I do it for fun. I have no pressure or stipulations that can come with a record deal. Though doing a few shows would be nice. Thanks for the comment my friend.

Most of the credit has to go to biba for his mastering and re-creation of the beat. Im glad you liked it sir.

Wow! &mdash 11/04/07 - 09:52:17 AM
What an incredible production man. Very nicely done!

The lyrics are great. I especially like the one about the Green zealots. That took courage. So few see the reality through the impassed rhetoric...Way to go!

Two thumbs up. One for the music and the other for the lyrics.

Be well!

However, that will not stop what is real from being what it is. Im glad you enjoyed the music. The song was hard "not" to write to. Biba is a very inspiring individual.

Hey you, chart hog! &mdash 11/04/07 - 12:43:14 PM
You're just doin it! - mister dude! Egggzallent job on this! You have the perfect tone and cadence to rap! Your voice is one that wants to be heard! Very listenable. But on top of that, your writing is always loaded with sustenance. I mean, every phrase is loaded.

I didn't quite understand about the backing music on this - are you saying that biba_nove did the backing - Excellent job, whoever banged it out!

Keep blowin up the boards my friend. Your words are good!

Thanks! Macca

One thing I try not to do is post too many songs at once. I would have waited a little longer for the "Life" song to play out, but I've been sitting on this song for quite some time.

To reference the beat it was Biba who remixed the music. I just sent him the vocals and he completly transformed it. I ended up adding the cuts later.

Its always good to hear your comments on my music. Your opinion is always welcome and appreciated.

Thank you.

I listened yesterday &mdash 11/04/07 - 03:43:27 PM
but didn't have time to comment.
This is very heavy, and the beginning cinematic darkness gives way to emotional intensity of a different sort. It's a lesson in subtle shades. Thrilling.

yes sir &mdash 11/04/07 - 05:06:21 PM
The thrill part has to go to Mr. Biba for creating the mood that inspired the lyrics.

Thanks for your stop by. Its always good to hear from you.

is a work of Art... great lyrics that I 'understand' (lovely clarity in the vocal) and it moves forward so nice and steady with that great backing. It wants some doing to come across without a break on that vocal too, great stuff, regards M

I can't tell you how many times I recorded the vocal (and even now I wish to redo it). Vocal delivery is nothing without creative content (at least for me). Thanks again for the comment. It is greatly appreciated.

who are we, really? &mdash 11/06/07 - 02:58:07 PM
"We're all old
the soul lived before there was an earth to spin
Our death is just a birth again"

...I love these words. It's what I've always believed, and puts a totally different perspective on one's own life on this planet.

The cadence of your voice and the thoughtfulness of your words here are most impressive. Set to Bryn's excellent background, this is a stunning and thought-provoking piece.

Thank you.

I think everything we do has some sort of spirit on its own. It was the music of biba (just like with most of the music I've written to) that inspired what I feel I know to be true.

Thank you ma'am

Dark, prophetic, great lyrics. I particularly like "false prophets in a land of credit cards and real estate--I search for the realest state within" cool. I didn't know that others had used the music before. Thanks for the links in you description.

The music had a very dark vibe to it that at the same time put a kind of hope that demanded the harsh reality that many know all to well.

Thank you for the listen and the comment sir.
