You sucked me in with that title. I had actually forgotten about this show (I was thinking purple). No not the exact theme, but I can hear the connection. Are submitting this for a remake of the show, that was a really funny show, I'd watch it again :)

I always liked that show, Barney Miller, so it just seemed to come natural doing this takeoff on the shows theme. The shows theme just seemed to flow right from the first time I heard it.

enjoy that show, but the theme escapes my memory, so this interpretation is all new to me and is sounding great. Love your guitar playing, cheers M

Ya know Maurice, we get shows over here from Britain quite a lot, and I'll bet that sometimes they change the theme music or other aspects of the show for the American audience. I can't help but wonder if this isn't one of those situations, but in reverse. For instance you had a show on BBC in the 70's called "The Good Life". Over here in the states, it was aired as "Good Neighbors", with all the appropriate changes to the opening title and the credits. That might be why you're not familiar with this particular theme song.

Of course my version is just similar to, but not exactly the same as the original theme. That might have some bearing on your not recognizing it as well. Oh well, it's doesn't matter as long as you enjoyed it, that's really the point of all this now isn't it. And I'm glad to hear that you did.

Really glad you liked this one. It's been in the hopper for close to 10 years, and I never finished it until the other day just before I posted it. I guess getting on MJ has helped me a lot to get the fire rekindled for doing my music again.

Ah, I remember Barney Miller. That bass line has always stuck with me as one of the more cool lines I've ever heard. This is a great interpretation.
