Description:
This is my little tribute to the old Barney Miller TV show from the 70's.
It's strictly my instrumental interpretation of the shows theme music. Close, but no cigar for being the real show theme.
Hope you like it, and thanks in advance for stopping by for a listen
Ed

Title &mdash 11/03/07 - 05:15:21 PM
You sucked me in with that title. I had actually forgotten about this show (I was thinking purple). No not the exact theme, but I can hear the connection. Are submitting this for a remake of the show, that was a really funny show, I'd watch it again :)
Now that I am hear and listening, again, to your guitar licks. I am very glad I came. You have a nice bluesy touch.
Thanks

Yeah I thought about that after I named it. &mdash 11/03/07 - 05:28:48 PM
But what the heck, why not just go for it anyway. That way I can get all the Teenie Boppers listening to something other than Rap and Trance and such.
Glad you dropping in for a visit Bill, it's always nice to make a new friend. And I'm also glad you liked my little connection with the 70's.
Peace to you

I always liked that show, Barney Miller, so it just seemed to come natural doing this takeoff on the shows theme. The shows theme just seemed to flow right from the first time I heard it.
Glad you stopped in for a visit, always nice to see you in the posting section.
Thank you for the kind words about this song and for taking time to listen to it.
Peace to you my friend.

enjoy that show, but the theme escapes my memory, so this interpretation is all new to me and is sounding great. Love your guitar playing, cheers M [ Reply to This ]
Thanks Maurice &mdash 11/03/07 - 11:39:34 PM
Ya know Maurice, we get shows over here from Britain quite a lot, and I'll bet that sometimes they change the theme music or other aspects of the show for the American audience. I can't help but wonder if this isn't one of those situations, but in reverse. For instance you had a show on BBC in the 70's called "The Good Life". Over here in the states, it was aired as "Good Neighbors", with all the appropriate changes to the opening title and the credits. That might be why you're not familiar with this particular theme song.
Of course my version is just similar to, but not exactly the same as the original theme. That might have some bearing on your not recognizing it as well. Oh well, it's doesn't matter as long as you enjoyed it, that's really the point of all this now isn't it. And I'm glad to hear that you did.
Thanks for the kind words Maurice. Always a pleasure to see your smiling face posted on one of my songs.
Cheers my friend,

Thanks Tom &mdash 11/04/07 - 05:13:26 PM
Really glad you liked this one. It's been in the hopper for close to 10 years, and I never finished it until the other day just before I posted it. I guess getting on MJ has helped me a lot to get the fire rekindled for doing my music again.
Thanks for listening and the kind words. Be well my friend,

Glad you dropped in for a visit on this and E-7th Blues and found it worth the trip. Thanks again my friend.

Nice! &mdash 11/06/07 - 10:00:14 AM
Ah, I remember Barney Miller. That bass line has always stuck with me as one of the more cool lines I've ever heard. This is a great interpretation. [ Reply to This ]

for stopping in to listen to this piece. Glad you enjoyed my take on the Barney Miller theme.
And you're right about that Bass line being the kind that sticks with you, this ones been stuck in my head for close to 30 years. I just decided last week to finish what I started doing on this about 12 years ago.
Thanks again for the kind words Joe and for dropping in for a visit.
