Description:
This is a special version of a song that i recorded in April of 2006: it is mastered by James Bouchard, a man of many great talents! : )
Lyrics:
I want to walk without stumbling (tumbling)I want to talk without fumbling (fumble-umble-umbling)
Oh, I want to belong
Want to flow along like a song
What is wrong?
Oh, I can't contain myself
No, I can't contain myself
Don't let me break down here now
Oh, how I'm trying
Let me make it down the street
Without crying
Tears of elation
Tears of desperation
I'm overcome!
And I can't contain myself
No, I can't contain myself
Can't contain myself
(Tang Tang Tang)
Up the elevator
(Tang Tang Tang)
And all the way down to the end of the hall
(Pang pang pang)
"It is hard to get through the day."
(Hang hang hang)
I see, I hear
(Through the window)
The Golden Gate call...
Falling in love with everyone I meet
My heart panging so awful and sweet
No, I can't let them see
Is it killing me?
Let love free!
Oh, I can't contain myself
No, I can't contain myself
Can't contain myself!

the telltale heart, the telltale voice, the telltale music... it is so agonizingly poignant. This is I think one of the best vocal performances I've heard yet of yours... those are some difficult jumps, and you hit the notes wonderfully. The "tang tang tang" harmony was a really inspired change, and the lyrics are enigmatically powerful, "falling in love...my heart..." those lines speak volumes for those who listen, as well as the chilling Golden Gate reference. Overall, I am having a tough time choosing, but this may be my favorite so far of yours. You are one talented young lady, thank you for sharing this talent with us! Jim did a very good job mixing this, the music and your singing remain distinct and clear together.

I replied to this in the wrong place. I couldn't find where to delete so i could put it in the right place, though. Sorry about that, scroll down a bit. :)

aweswome singing .. ! !

Thank you very much! It was a fulfilling song to sing, so i am glad you liked the singing. :)
baki
little retro tune here, liked it a lot. keep them coming ;)
slumbering
Glad you liked it! :) Thanks for letting me know.
Kate Bush. Subtle, fragile, lushes and confident delivery. Made me forget about the song n worries. I like the percussion, the bridge is cool. I have my doubts about the beats though (not the percussion). The piano is cool but a bit repetitive (look who is talking;-)). Perhaps a little chord-progression like you do in the bridge would really get you in the charts. Because you can read my honest critique as something positive and a gentle nudge to make you aware you could be a star. I truly think you could make it as a singer! As an MJ'er you are a star....now the rest! Good mastering by Bouchard, good dynamics and a clear yet overly compressed recording.
ciao ciao, Jb
it should have read: yet NOT overly compressed (makes tunes pump in your ears, like adds)

Thanks for your feedback. And thanks, also, for the very flattering comments. I don't think i could hack being a star, even if that were possible, but it is a really fun and nice thing to hear. Too kind of you.
I do enjoy these music communities, though, and don't mind a bit of recognition here, once in a while. ;)

Thank you very much! :) I look forward to having a listen to yours soon.

is great with very strong lyrics. I love the vocals with their Kate Bush type sounds, but with your own special style.... and the backing is awesome, regards M

Thank you very much, Drakonis, you always have the most interesting and lovely ways of seeing/hearing things and you get that across in your comments. A talent i don't have or i would be commenting more and better on your lovely tunes. I just heard a couple of your latest tunes, that i should at least say something about, as i was charmed by them. Thanks.

Cannot find anything other than high praise for this submission.Radio ready, great production,a killer mix, dynamics, great melody, vibe and instrumentation. At the top of all those acolades is a voice that sends shivers up the spine (which is critical in my book),and the picture painted by the lyrics makes this a top flight tune.A woman's innocence, fears and fraility disquised and neatly wrapped in a cool, original pop tune.Loved it!
Blessings,

What a wonderful compliment! Gosh, i don't know what to say. Thank you so much for listening and letting me know your thoughts. That's so nice, thanks.

I like this breathy chick register you warble in. Song was a bit nonedescript tune wise. Big up tho girl.

Heh! Thanks! :)

This is stunning Slumby!
The lushness of the production really highlights what a gorgeous voice you've got. It's very melodic and pretty but still has your distinctive theatrical-goth trademark. I love those soaring high notes you do. You should get Jim to do an album's worth of stuff for you now. :)
Rebsie
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
slumbering
Thank you for listening, and for your comments, and thank you also for the happy birthday! :)
Woohoo! :D
(My birthdays aren't usually happy but this one has been because of people like you!)

I wasn't expecting quite such boppiness from you - particularly as you had Mr Country Blues himself (aka JB) assisting. You've delivered a killer track here - your voice sounds so fragile and yet has the power to float above the beats and instrumentation. This deserves to be a massive hit!

Amazing vocal, top bed.
Did I mention the amazing vocal?! Strong yet fragile, innocent but knowing, and clear as a bell!
Love this one!

this when you posted it, great song. i like the beats and all of your production choices. your voice sounds excellent and I really like that piano rhythm. have you ever heard the devics or black heart procession? they sound nothing loike this song, but the piano part reminds me of them. really nice change in the middle too, okay i'm going to stop now. great job.
Great Music Work, Great Vocals .. AWESOME PIECE FROM ALL SIDES .. Loved it !

Don't need to download this - I can vividly recall it at any time several months on, after hearing it in Another Place.
Of course you don't need me to tell you that it's wonderful again - but I will anyway.

Your voice sounds brilliant on this. I don't know how I miss this, and you, for that matter.
Love that piano riff played through out.
You've some real talent.
Bouchard did a great job, too.

Love this too... the drums bury you a little bit... but still shines.... echo Rebsie, you need to think about putting together an album!
