Description:
Resolve is a song that I originally wrote and recorded in the fall of 1998. It has a fairly straight forward theme to it, which is not wanting things to change. It’s about knowing that change is ahead, and although initially not wanting that change to happen, you know that it must be dealt with. Eventually coming to the realization that the future has be met on your own terms, without relying on anyone to get you through it.

This new recording is very close to the original. The middle section of lyrics is slightly different but the rest of the lyrics remain the same as the original.

The overall musical feel of this song is a little lighter. Mostly open chords were used with the main chord progressions utilizing A, G and F to give the song a bit more of an upbeat feel. This new version is also tuned down a half step to give it a bit of a heavier feel, which is something I have done with the last four or five songs I’ve recorded recently.

Lyrics:
There’s a cold wind blowing in the air tonight
Unwanted change is well within sight
No going back to what used to be
For better or for worse I’ll wait and see
Bridge: And in time all lies will disappear
And then the truth will be revealed
And I know then that all will be told
And I will no longer be denied control
Chorus: And as I stand alone
On the edge of the unknown
With a determined stare and a firm Resolve
And pride to call my own
And as I walk away from all of my past days
I anticipate what is to come
And Resolve what I will change
I now can see the end ahead
Where all that I have ever known is dead
And beyond that just what will be
A path that’s filled with uncertainty
Bridge / Chorus
Too much listening to everybody’s advice
I need time to find out what it’s like
To travel this road with no fear to fall
And to Resolve to rise above it all
Bridge / Chorus / Chorus

Thanks for the Cooper reference....I definitely take that as a compliment!
